Best online poker rooms for playing Omaha (PLO) in 2019

Today we continue the series of posts which analyze the best online poker rooms in 2019 across different disciplines. We already commented about Spins and today it's the turn for Omaha.

Best online poker rooms for playing Omaha (PLO) in 2019

partypoker — PLO leader in 2019

In February 2019 partypoker keeps struggling for the leadership of the Omaha market, although its traffic confirms the room as the today's leader, the next competitor is only a few low-stakes tables away. The action at the PLO$200/$400 tables is regular and first class.

PLO500 9

From the traffic table, we conclude that there is available action at all stakes, from low to high ones. The highest stakes at the room deserve an additional comment, as there are indeed tables up to PLO40k which are tied to the figure of Sam Trickett and players get only access through invitation.

HU tables are visible in the lobby (4-5 per stake).

partypoker PLO rake structure

Blinds Number of players Rake  Maximum
$0.01/$0.02 to $0.05/$0.10 2-10 $0.01 per $0.20 pot $1.00
$0.10/0.25 to $10/20 2 $0.01 per $0.20 pot $1.00
3-4 $0.01 per $0.20 pot $2.00
5-10 $0.01 per $0.20 pot $3.00
$15/$30 to $50/$100 2-3 $0.05 per $1.00 pot $2.00
4-10 $0.05 per $1.00 pot $5.00
$200/$400 2 $0.05 per $1.00 pot $2.00
3-10 $0.05 per $1.00 pot $5.00

partypoker charges a standard 5% rake at PLO tables, with a CAP of $5 for higher stakes. Considering the rakeback deal on partypoker, we conclude that the rake structure at PLO tables is one of the lowest today.

GG Network — Top Asian network for PLO games

The GG Network continues growing and that is clearly visible in the Omaha traffic. Its current traffic is similar to partypoker:

Tables with ante were added to GG Network the year before and the traffic is starting to increase there (about 6 tables are played today). The highest stakes available (Featured Tables) consists of PLO4k — PLO20k, although most of the players get in with incomplete stacks. The GG Network also offers PLO All-in or fold tables from PLO50 up to PLO1k, and about 6 tables are played per stake. It's important to comment that GG forbids all kind of support software and the only statistics are available inside the poker client (Smart HUD feature).

GG charges 3% of rake at the Omaha tables with no CAP. This means that at high stakes the rake will be significantly higher compared to other networks.

Winning and Chico — Playing Omaha at U.S. facing networks

From here, the traffic is less compared to the two market leaders (party and GG), but the American networks have a series of features that make both a good choice for playing Omaha.

The traffic at PLO medium and high-stakes have increased at Winning Poker, and even we have to mention 2-3 tables of PLO2k which are occasionally played during the peak time. About Chico, we must highlight the 7-Day No Rathole tables, where this week the high-roller Laszlo "omaha4rollz" Buytas managed to get a $200kUSD stack starting with a $1,000 one.

The rake structure at PokerKing is similar to the partypoker one, and Chico charges a little bit more (5% against 5,5%), and the maximum rake is higher especially when the table is full.

iPoker and MPN — Omaha is still alive on the European poker networks

Omaha is not the hottest game in Europe, but on iPoker and MPN you can find decent action at low and medium-stakes, and occasionally PLO1k tables.

PLO traffic at iPoker and Microgaming:

Betfair Poker:

Both networks have a very similar rake structure, 5% with different caps per stake. Mixing both rooms can be profitable for poker players needing traffic during the European peak time.

Private reservations: a new world for Omaha players

Players looking for the softest PLO action online must definitely take a look at private poker reservations such as Chinese or Israeli ones. Those sites, with access only from trusted affiliates, offer action at the highest stakes with very weak lineups:

  • GoldPokerPro
  • Royal Diamond Poker
  • Kingsclubpkr

Usually, the sites have only 5-10 tables available during the peak time, but almost all of them on medium or high-stakes, and almost all players are wealthy local fans.

Chinese players do love Omaha, and our portfolio includes several rooms besides the well-known PokerMaster. Please contact our team in order to check the requirements to start playing at these rooms, exclusively available only to our VIP players.
