Will Kornuth begin to smash Galfond?
The last time we wrote about the HU match between Phil Galfond and Chance Kornuth was after 10 sessions. After a short break, Kornuth was able to win back $78k in the next session. But Phil's lead even after that was over $200k and it seemed big enough.
The next three sessions held from October 13 to 22 changed the course of the match:
|11 (13 October)||Chance Kornuth||$84,000||540|
|12 (20 October)||Chance Kornuth||$150,000||549|
|13 (22 October)||Chance Kornuth||$157,000||500|
Chance Kornuth won three sessions in a row for the first time and won $157,000 in one day. After 6,850 hands, he is ahead by $190,000.
However, Kornuth is still far from the record set by "ActionFreak," who was able to win €264,044 in one day and 721 hands.
On social networks, Chance remains laconic. The poker coach simply called the last session "another good day":
Highlights Day 12 and Day 13
You can check out the best hands from the last two days of the Galfond Challenge in the videos below, which left one of their participants more than $300k in profits. Several comments were made highlighting the Galfond's downswing and recalling the comeback against VeniVidi1993.
Let's recall that the match between Galfond and Kornuth will have 35,000 hands, so only 20% of the games have been played; anything can change in the future.
