GGMasters: Guaranteed Prize Pool Doubled in 3 Months
At first, GGMasters was announced with a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000, but after a first overlay, the network decided to add another $50,000 to attract more players. It was only in mid-March that the tournament was held without an overlay.
It's no secret that the main driver of the increase in the number of participants is the Coronavirus pandemic. GGPoker Network decided to add another $100,000 (hitting $400k), and the results were excellent as the GTD prize pool was smashed last week.
And now, Good Game decided to jump into the hype train and boost the prize pool again.
On March 29, 2020, GGMasters will be held for the first time with a $500,000 guaranteed prize pool.
New satellites have been added to all the GGPoker Network skins, and now, 24 events will be played every day, two of them with 20 GTD tickets, and others with 10 and 30 tickets each. And on Sunday, a mega-satellite with 50 tickets is scheduled.
GGPoker needs to draw more than 3,600 players to cover the $500,000 GTD (buy-in: $150), and satellites will provide more than 800 according to the plan. And this is without considering that global affiliates are raffling dozens of tickets now.
As we have said, it's an EV+ decision to play online poker now due to the traffic boost that will last until the Coronavirus pandemic ends. Of course, after a few months, GG Poker Network most likely will reduce the GGMasters guaranteed prize pool (or pay massive overlays). But for now, we can also jump into the hype too.
