High Stakes Feud: Polk vs. Negreanu
PokerGO announced a collaboration with GGPoker (home of Daniel Negreanu) on High Stakes Feud, a show that will be streamed free of charge for the fans.
The first 200 hands of the challenge between Daniel Negreanu and Doug Polk will be played face-to-face and streamed live from the ARIA Resort and Casino on November 4, 2020.
A short teaser was released today with short interviews of both contenders, spicing things up before the match kick-off.
Paul Burke, Senior Manager of Content at GGPoker, addressed the upcoming challenge:
"Bringing 'High Stakes Feud' to life has been a real honor, as millions of poker fans and players around the world have been awaiting this highly anticipated match between Negreanu and Polk."
Charts and notes will be allowed
One of the many fights between the two players when setting the details of the challenge was the use of preflop charts. Negreanu referred to them as "cheat sheets," while Polk insisted that he changed the rules whenever he wanted.
Unexpectedly, last week Doug tweeted that both pros agreed to allow both notes and charts for the HU match. Negreanu only replied that Polk "brought up some valid points" and highlighted that he wouldn't use charts, but will take notes.
"You could write down a preflop strategy on a piece of paper and that's essentially a note."
I play to win millions of dollars: Doug Polk
Polk confessed that he has a long history with Daniel Negreanu dating back to 2014 and said about him: "the guy is completely delusional."
On the other hand, Daniel said that "he is very tough online, when you see him in person, he's much softer, that's very typical for online trolls."
There's no way to hide in heads-up. Let's see how it goes for 25,000 hands.
Doug Polk remains the absolute favorite at PokerShares, as the odds are 1.18 for him and 5.10 for Daniel Negreanu. The maximum bet is capped to €5,000 per user, but certainly, much there are certainly much bigger prop bets waiting the results match on the match.
Recently, Doug changed his Twitter account to "Truck Driver" and added the message "Backing up to the truck" in a clear message to Daniel, warning him that he is back on track. After the first 200 hands played live, both players will continue online at WSOP.com to play the remainder of the challenge.
PokerGO announced that High Stakes Poker, the immortal show, will air again in December 2020, so we can only expect tons of action from the best players in the world in the coming months.
