What is Poker Club?
Ripstone Games Studio specializes in sports games simulators. Back in 2015, they launched "Pure Hold'em," another poker simulator. In early September 2020, the British company announced a brand-new poker project — Poker Club, which should be released this year.
Main differences from other similar games:
- Cross-platform, including support for two next-generation consoles: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X;
- High-level graphics with Ultra HD 4k visual effects with full RTX support;
- More than 10 types of tournaments (for 200+ players), PCC Poker Tour, and a large selection of locations to play;
- Multi-player mode;
- Private poker clubs.
Phil Gaskell, Creative Director at Ripstone Games, stated the following:
We have been hard at work on Poker Club for quite some time now, and we are very excited to share our vision for the future of competitive poker in video games. Before I go into any more detail, I'd like to share a glimpse into how it feels to live the life of a poker pro in Poker Club in our announcement trailer.
The Poker Club page has already been added to Steam with support for six languages and much more. But for us, of course, the most important thing is how this game can affect the online poker industry's development.
A new step towards bringing live poker experience to online sites?
The main problem of modern online poker in finding the right balance between amateurs and professional players is increasingly solved by borrowing ideas from live games. The main one was the launching of private games and clubs.
PokerStars VR was the first development in the videogames area, but Poker Club introduces several novelties:
