partypoker MILLIONS Online 2018
In December 2018 the first MILLIONS Online was played with an incredible guaranteed prize of $20M, which was smashed by $1,8350,000, although we spotted some overlays on the satellite's campaign. A total of 4,637 players took part in the action, the tournament had a $5,300 buy-in, and five initial flights ended with over 600 players fighting for the big prize. Manuel “Sheparentao” Ruivo won over $2M, and the story of "Scarmak3r" became famous because he won $1,3M with a little investment of $5.

For this year, partypoker is hosting the massive $20M tournament again, but now it will become the Main Event of tournament series that will be played from December 1st to 10th. The buy-in of the $20M tournament will be increased, from $5,300 to $10,300, getting from the beginning the record of the largest ever online poker tournament over $10k buy-in. partypoker hasn't posted the detailed schedule yet, but the side events are expected to be available even for low stakes players.
Also, the massive satellite's campaign that ran in 2018 will be held again this year, so that players can get $10k tickets for as little as $5.
In the words of Tom Waters, partypoker Managing Director:
"Following the success of last year’s MILLIONS Online we’ve decided to keep the $20M guarantee, however, we wanted to bring the full MILLIONS live experience online and offer a host of side events alongside the Main Event"
All these movements were confirmed by Rob Yong as part of a big roadmap to retake partypoker to the top of online poker rooms. So far, the room is offering tournament series with fantastic guaranteed prices and that is working to attract new players, but the anti-reg measures like restricting the usage of HUD at the tables may cause side effects and possible overlays in the tournaments.
