partypoker MILLION reaches its break-even point

partypoker will remember February 2020 as the month in which one of its flagship events — the partypoker MILLION, finally reached its break-even point as it was played without overlays for the first time.

Did partypoker find a way to get rid of overlays?

In January, the partypoker MILLION has a massive overlay of $122,000. After that, the event was completely redesigned: the satellite program was modified, side events for $2,2, and $22 were canceled, and the number of starting flights was increased.

This didn't have an immediate effect on the next events:

January 26 — $130,000 overlay;
February 2 — $83,714 overlay.

Unfortunately, last week the tournament was canceled for the second time this year due to technical problems. Rob Yong said at the end of December 2019 that if overlays kept showing up, the event would be canceled in January.

But now they must be popping champagne at the partypoker offices because today the partypoker MILLION managed to cover the guaranteed prize pool and exceed it by $57,432.

The winner of the event, "AbejlogluBele," who received $130,158 after a final table deal, finished 13th in the partypoker MILLION played last November.

Why did a poker room as big as partypoker have to wait too long to reach a break-even point? It's hard to understand. The technical problems of the site certainly didn't help to increase its popularity. Perhaps the influx of Coral Poker players who finally joined the network in January were responsible for the success of the tournament?
