PartyPoker rolls out a major software update

This week one of the top online poker rooms, PartyPoker, deployed a major software upgrade to its poker client. This upgrade is intended to attract more players before the tournament series Powerfest.

PartyPoker rolls out a major software update

The upgrade is mainly focused on improving the table appearance and functionality, making multi-tabling more comfortable:

  • Improved, larger table design with two new table felts and backgrounds
  • Modernized player plates including a digital countdown timer
  • Increased hole card sizes
  • Enhanced Player note functionality
  • Restyled Bet Slider that now incorporates the time bank

After the software upgrade, some players complained in forums about bugs, which resulted in another maintenance today 24/08/2018. This reminds us of the problems Apple had the last year with software upgrade that led to the iPhone malfunction all over the world.

The PartyPoker support even tried helping players with temporary solutions.

The Mac OS users will need to wait "a few months" to update their software, as the full upgrade is currently available only for Windows computers; the Mac and Windows client both received some additional features too:

  • 'Mix-Max' poker, set to make its debut during POWERFEST
  • Showdown on check-down (when a hand is ‘checked around’ on the river)
  • Ability to register for up to 12 'Sit & Go Jackpot' games simultaneously
  • MTT custom buy-in range (allowing players to filter MTTs by buy-in)
