The tournament overlays in the Winning Poker Network Million Dollar Sundays were very popular this year. Usually, in the most popular rooms, the overlays are in expensive tournaments with high buy-ins, less than one hundred players and lots of regulars at the tables. Ideally, everyone would like to play in a tournament with an overlay with soft opponents. Last Sunday we monitored three poker rooms and found out this kind of tournaments: overlays more than 10% of the guaranteed prize and 35 to 110 players.
Intertops is now the flagship room of the Horizon network (former Revolution) and every Sunday it hosts three tournaments - The Sunday SunDowner. The biggest one has a $27,5 buy-in and a guaranteed prize of $4,500.
Last week, this tournament had only 149 entries. The overlay was $402.5. The event has a very deep stack structure (initial stack of 10k chips, 15 minutes blinds and ante only from the fifth level).
During the week there are turbo satellites to the Sunday SunDowner with buy-ins from $0.8 to $3.3.
Tonybet runs two tournaments on Sunday:
- €2,000 Diamond freezeout with a 40€ buy-in (10k chips initial stack, blinds increase every 10 minutes)
- €2,500 Hey Ballers with a €10 buy-in (2 rebuys, 1 add-on, blinds increase every 8 minutes)
Last Sunday, only 35 players participated in the first event resulting in a €600 overlay. In the second one, 76 players with 66 rebuys and 41 add-ons resulted in a €670 overlay. The Hey Ballers tournament is interesting because the entrance can be obtained for free just by making a first deposit of €10 using the code "STARTER". For the Diamond one, during the week there are freezeout satellites of €2,5 with one ticket guaranteed.
We keep the most exciting for the last.
VBet Poker hosts the Super Sunday every week, a tournament with a €55 buy-in and €10,000GTD (initial stack of 10k chips, blinds increase every 10 minutes, from level 20 - 20 minutes and ante from the first level). During the first two levels, you can re-enter up to two times to the tournament.
This week only 110 players attended to the tournament and made 50 re-entries, resulting in a €1,200 overlay, more than 10% of the guarantee.
What can we conclude? Four small tournaments with total buy-ins of $150 and more than $3,000 in overlays. That is, for MTT players, the opportunity of winning up to 15% more than in similar tournaments without overlay.
Figuratively speaking, it could be said that after playing the 4 tournaments for $150, you were invited to a freeroll tournament with $3,000 in prizes and 50-100 players. Even better, Hey Ballers €2,500 can also be a freeroll if you haven't played at Tonybet Poker yet.
