Features of the series
888Poker wasn't the first poker room to announce a tournament series in the new year; however, they presented the players with a revamped festival under an already familiar brand:
From January 16 to 31, the XL Winter Series will take place at 888Poker, guaranteeing a record $2,500,000.
Such a boost in the guaranteed prize pool compared to 2022 ($2,000,000) was due to a change in the structure of the schedule: besides changing numbered events (28 instead of 44), it also includes more regular tournaments.
- The buy-in range has noticeably increased: from $5.5 to $2,100, although most MTTs have entries of up to $11-$55
- The spread in the prize pool is quite large: $5k to $500k. Numbered events feature guarantees $20k-$50k, and daily from $6k-$15k
- There will be only four events with six-figure prizes:
- $100k Opening for $109
- $100k Super High Roller 6-max for $2,100
- $200k Mystery Bounty 8-max for $160
- $500,000 Main Event for $250
The main format of the series will be Mystery Bounty.

Main Event
$500,000 XL Winter #28 — Main Event for $250 consists of 22 starting flights running from January 25 to 30 and the final day starting on January 31.
There are three different flights:
- Hyper (3 minutes blinds)
- Turbo (6 minutes)
- Daily (12 minutes)
In all cases, the players get a 166.7BB stack, and the game goes on until level 18 or until 14% of the registered players remain.
There are satellites for $25 with 3 tickets added. Steps start from centrolls. As usual, entries to the Main Event can be won in public freerolls.
