World Cup Series $300,000 GTD at Ignition Poker
From June 11 through July 19, 2026, Ignition Poker will run the World Cup Series, a unique festival offering more than $300,000 in guaranteed prize pools. The series combines a poker tournament with FIFA World Cup action. Players will not only have to perform well at the poker tables but also pick the winners of the football matches wisely. Successful predictions unlock tickets to higher-value tournaments within the series and provide entry to exclusive freerolls.
How the World Cup Series works
During the World Cup, two special tournaments corresponding to the participating national teams appear in the Ignition Poker client lobby for each match.
Before the match, players select the tournament for the team they expect to win. If their prediction is correct, they have the opportunity to win additional prizes on top of the standard payouts.
Structure of the series
The series follows the structure of the World Cup playoffs and consists of five main stages.
The deeper you advance in the grid, the higher the buy-ins and the more valuable the rewards for correct predictions.
Freerolls and tickets
Players who correctly predict the winners of the group-stage matches will qualify for a special $5,000 guaranteed freeroll.

At the next stages of the series, tickets to more expensive tournaments are awarded:
- Round of 32 (June 29 - July 4) → The top 32 players of the winning team's tournament receive a $22 ticket.
- Round of 16 (July 5-7) → The top 16 players of the winning team's tournament receive a $27.50 ticket.
- Quarterfinals (July 9-11) → The top 8 players of the winning team's tournament receive a $33 ticket.
- Semifinals (July 14-15) → The top 4 players of the winning team's tournament receive a $109 ticket to the World Cup Final. Additionally, the top 4 players of the losing team's tournament receive a $55 ticket to the Consolation Tournament (the tournament for third place).
Key tournaments
The series will conclude with the World Cup Final on July 19. The festival's flagship event carries a $60,000 guaranteed prize pool and a $109 buy-in.
One day earlier, on July 18, players can take part in the Third Place Match $7,500 GTD, which features a $55 buy-in. For those who fall short of qualifying for the main final, it provides another chance to compete for significant prizes.
Our opinion on the World Cup Series: a winning combination of poker and football
We believe the World Cup Series is one of Ignition Poker's most exciting tournament promotions. Unlike most series, players get an extra level of engagement due to the events being tied to World Cup matches.
In our opinion, the series' main advantage is its accessible progression system between stages. Even players with a small bankroll can complete the entire qualification ladder and compete for a spot in the World Cup Final with a $60,000 guarantee at virtually no extra cost.
On the other hand, players will face additional variance in the World Cup Series. A player can make the right decisions at the table and play correctly, but lose out on potential rewards due to an incorrect football match prediction.
