A renowned 34-year-old Swedish professional poker player remembered for his extravagant high-stakes games with top players on Full Tilt Poker, and PokerStars decided to help another room "revive the poker dream." Viktor "Isildur1" Bloom announced on social media that he was now an ambassador for Phenom Poker.

Is Isildur1 Back?

Legend Viktor "Isildur1" Bloom hasn't played online for a long time and is seen in live tournaments a few times a year. The player's social media activity is practically nonexistent, but on April 27, 2025, after almost two years of silence, the Swede wrote a lengthy post on his X account (formerly Twitter). The most relevant part was:

"I have decided to join Phenom Poker as Team Pro."

Phenom Poker is a new cryptocurrency poker room with games and bonuses in an ecosystem with its own token, built as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO).

Viktor becomes the room's 15th ambassador. The team already includes high-caliber players such as Brian Rast.

How did they manage to convince Bloom to return to online poker?

Matt Valeo (founder and leader of Phenom Poker) is responsible for everything. After a conversation with him, Viktor decided to help the new team "revive the poker dream" and make poker what it should be: safe, fun, and with a reasonable rake.

Ambassador for the Fourth Time

Viktor

According to the player, his love for poker hasn't disappeared, but modern room policies (high rake, little interest in combating fraud, and the use of bots) led Viktor to stop playing online.
Recall that Bloom was previously an ambassador three times:

  1. PokerStars (2011-2012): In January 2011, "Isildur1" revealed his secret identity and officially became a representative of the largest poker room at the time, participating in the SuperStars Showdown series.
  2. Full Tilt Poker (2012-2013): After the brand was relaunched under the Rational Group, the player joined "The Professionals" team.
  3. Unibet Poker (2017-2018): Viktor only appeared once as a Team Pro at the site, playing in the Unibet Open Series in London.

Regarding Phenom Poker, despite utilizing highly disruptive offerings with Blockchain technology and a wide selection of games, the site has failed to build a significant player pool six months after opening. There are 10-15 active tables with completely different formats at peak times, from NLH to 6-Card PLO8 and mixed games.

We'll almost certainly see Viktor Bloom playing at the site's most expensive tables, $300/$600. Time will tell how much the Swede's presence will help boost Phenom Poker.
