Phenom Poker Review

Phenom Poker is a new cryptocurrency online poker room created by a team of renowned players. Team Pro includes Brian Rast, Viktor Blom, Dan Cates, Phil Laak, and other poker pros.

Phenom Poker’s standout feature is its exceptionally broad range of poker games, one of the most diverse lineups in the industry. The client supports both cash games and tournaments in No-Limit and Limit Texas Hold’em, multiple Omaha variants, along with Stud, Razz, Draw, and a variety of mixed games. Most importantly, the tables are active, so players can actually find games running.

According to its creators, Phenom Poker is the first poker platform designed to make every player an owner. The project is structured as a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO):

• Bonuses (up to 40% rakeback) are paid in Phenom Tokens (PHNM).
• Staking the token increases rakeback and PHNM accrual with a multiplier of up to x1.5.
• RNG is decentralized and runs on a blockchain.
• Players' bankrolls are stored in external Web3 wallets, and their movement to and from tables is regulated by smart contracts.
• Primary currency is USDT (Polygon), but deposits can also be made in other coins.

Phenom Poker’s biggest challenge remains its low traffic. At present, the poker room has struggled to attract more than a few hundred players online at the same time, and overall table activity is still limited despite the team’s ongoing efforts.

The Phenom Poker loyalty program has five levels. The level of rakeback is determined by how much PHNM the player has staked.

The Grind Prix Leaderboard is a weekly rake race with a progressive prize pool.

• The race is divided into three leaderboards: Micro+Low, Medium, and High. Each leaderboard has its own limits based on the game type and stakes.
• To qualify for a leaderboard, players must generate a minimum amount of rake from the start of the week: 10 USDT for Micro+Low, 25 USDT for Medium, and 100 USDT for High.
• Prize pools are funded by a share of the rake collected at cash tables, with 20% of each prize pool carried over to the following week’s race.
• Each race begins on Monday at 12:00 PM GMT and runs for exactly one week, ending at 11:59 AM the following Monday. Payouts are issued on the same day and completed by the end of Monday.
• Players earn 50 leaderboard points for every 1 USDT contributed in rake.

Players can view their accumulated points directly in the poker room client by opening the "Leaderboards" tab.

Phenom Token

The Phenom Token works with smart contracts on the Ethereum network (ERC-20 standard). A total of 50 million tokens will be issued, half of which players will receive through various bonuses (these can be exchanged for USDT directly in the client).

It is not possible to buy the Phenom Token.

Phenom Poker token holders can vote on the updates proposed by the administration. Every week, 50% of the rake in USDT is distributed among the holders.

The amount of Phenom Token is calculated weekly based on the rake received.

Games and traffic

Phenom Poker is a young online poker site, so the traffic volume is currently at most 200 connections.

During these hours, the lobby typically features up to a dozen active tables across Hold’em, Omaha, and mixed games in heads-up, 6-max, and 9-max formats. Much of the action is often concentrated at stakes of $5/$10 and higher.

Tournaments

The tournament section at Phenom Poker is for fans of exotic games. Unlike most poker rooms, Hold'em tournaments aren't the most popular on Phenom Poker's schedule, and they're a minority.

Perhaps this is why tournaments aren't popular here. As fields tend to be very small. Even freerolls seldom attract more than 100 entrants.

All  MTTs are grouped into two main categories:

1. Daily GTD. Events with buy-ins of $10.25 and guarantees of up to $250.
2. Weekly Specials. Events with buy-ins up to $500 and guarantees of up to $10,000.

The $50 freeroll starts every day at 10:00 AM. The poker room also hosts status freerolls:

• Sunday Gold+ Freeroll: $1,000 GTD
• Platinum+ Freeroll: $5,000 GTD on the first day of each month

Phenom Poker escalator

Since the start of 2026, Phenom Poker has been rolling out a new Escalator staking system with two available options:

1. Flexible. Tokens are not locked under this option. However, holding PHNM grants a gradually increasing multiplier, starting at x0.25 and rising to a maximum of x1.50 after 104 weeks or more of staking.
2. Fixed. Tokens are voluntarily locked for a set period ranging from 4 to 104 weeks, during which they can’t be exchanged for USDT. In return, the player receives the maximum x1.50 multiplier immediately for the entire lock-up period.

Phenom Poker software

Phenom Poker uses its own proprietary client, available for Windows, macOS, and web browsers. Although there is no standalone mobile app yet, the client is well optimized for playing on mobile devices.

The app has a classic interface with a navigation menu at the top and a table lobby at the bottom. On the right side of the window, you can find information about the balance, VIP level, cashier, and settings.

Tables cannot be viewed from the lobby. There are waiting lists.

Players can customize the appearance of tables, change bet sizes, make notes about opponents, and change avatars.

Trackers are not supported. Hand history is only available for the current session at a specific table.

Deposits and withdrawals

The primary currency for deposits and the only currency for withdrawals is USDT (Polygon). Players can also top up the accounts using other cryptocurrencies, which are automatically converted to USDT at the current exchange rate when the deposit is made:

Phenom Poker places no limits on transaction amounts. However, a fee applies when using any cryptocurrency other than USDT (Polygon):

• Ethereum, Bitcoin – 1.5% (minimum $2)
• Other networks and coins – 1% (minimum $0.5)

Withdrawals are available only after account verification. Once approved, funds are typically credited to the player’s account within 15–20 minutes.

Account verification (KYC)
