After a three-year hiatus, the World Poker Tour will once again host a major tournament in Las Vegas in July. The $4M GTD WPT Venetian Las Vegas Championship will be played from July 11-17 at the renovated Venetian.

WPT announces a new tournament

It is common knowledge that every year, from late May through mid-summer, the most important event held in Las Vegas is the World Series of Poker (WSOP). Another major brand, the WPT, hasn't hosted tournaments at this time since 2022, but this will change in 2025.

The WPT Venetian Las Vegas Championship will be played at the Venetian Casino from July 11-17, guaranteeing $4,000,000 with a $5,000 buy-in.

The event gathered 1,178 entries three years ago, creating a $5.5 million prize pool, so the organizers can count on breaking the guarantee. In 2022, Robert Mizrachi won the tournament for $894,100.

The Venetian has changed a lot in recent years. It offers the largest poker room on the Strip (1,400 square feet and 50 tables) and a new live streaming platform (the WPT Championship final table can be watched live on the casino's YouTube channel).

The tournament will be part of the traditional Venetian DeepStack Championship Series. This time, the series schedule will include 116 events, most of which will cost up to $1,100.

The organizers have not yet determined how many starting flights the WPT Venetian Championship will have, but it is already known that tickets can be won in the ClubWPT Gold room, which is running a simultaneous promotion for the WSOP.

Remember, the final week of the World Series will begin on July 10. However, the Main Event starting flights will have already ended by then. Those who have not qualified can participate in this critical WPT tournament.
