The First Yuan-Denominated High Roller

Since its launch, WPT Global has placed a particular focus on players from Asia. It’s no surprise that the poker room’s lobby features numerous events with buy-ins and guarantees denominated in yuan. • Table format: 8-max.

In addition to the direct ¥5,300 buy-in, players can qualify for the Asia Super High Roller Championship through step satellites. Qualifying tournaments run throughout the week.

The step series consists of tournaments with the following buy-ins:

¥11 →  ¥30 → ¥55  → ¥110  → ¥288 → ¥550.

Our opinion about the Asia Super High Roller Championship

Expanding the tournament schedule is always a major advantage for players. WPT Global was previously lacking high-stakes events, as MTT buy-ins typically did not exceed $110. The launch of the Asia Super High Roller Championship has filled that gap. The tournament has a ¥5,300 buy-in, or approximately $790.

The high roller will be particularly appealing to players from Southeast Asia. In local time, the Asia Super High Roller Championship starts between 19:05 and 21:05, depending on the time zone.
