Our opinion: Why the Run Up Series is worth playing

ACR Poker has extensive experience running major tournament series, and the Run Up Series reflects that. We believe it's a well-balanced festival that offers plenty of opportunities to compete in a wide variety of events, many of which feature guarantees that exceed those found in the regular tournament schedule.

What players should pay attention to:

  • Tournaments with the largest guarantees that fit your bankroll, especially those starting at less convenient times—such as early evening or around midnight in Europe. These events are often more likely to experience overlays.
  • The series features three Main Events with different buy-ins, giving players at every bankroll level a chance to compete. The tournaments have a fluid structure that allows for a more measured style of play. If the direct buy-in is outside your bankroll, satellites offer an affordable path into these events.
  • Satellites are available for many of the series' marquee tournaments, with buy-ins starting at just a few dollars. Browse the satellite schedule to find low-cost qualifiers and earn a seat in events with large prize pools and fields of hundreds of players.
  • If you enjoy high-stakes action and the excitement of large mystery bounties, Run Up #4 MB – $1,000,000 GTD is an excellent choice. Keep in mind, however, that to build a competitive stack for Day 2, you'll likely need to finish in the top 12% of the field across multiple flights. As a result, the total cost of playing this event is often higher than the initial $66 buy-in.

The only downside to the Run Up Series, in our opinion, is the lack of a full schedule of tournaments in different Omaha variations.
