WPT Asia Series: Overdrive at WPT Global
WPT Global will run the WPT Asia Series: Overdrive from July 19 to August 30, 2026, featuring more than ¥200,000,000 in guaranteed prize money. Spanning six weeks, the festival will include 13 WPT Ring events, hundreds of side tournaments, a series leaderboard, and daily missions.

During the WPT Asia Series: Overdrive at WPT Global, players will be awarded ¥2,000,000 in prize money via weekly leaderboards.

Leaderboard points are awarded for:
- Registration before the tournament starts. Early Bird Points are limited to 30 points per day.
- Elimination during the bubble stage.
- Final tournament placement.
The number of leaderboard points awarded varies depending on the tournament category. Events are divided into six tiers: Diamond Large (placement points only), Diamond Medium, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze.

Daily Missions
Throughout the event, WPT Global will also offer WPT Asia Series: Overdrive Daily Missions. Players who complete these missions will earn tickets to Hourly All-In Flip tournaments, where the top participants can qualify for the Daily Finals.
A total of 42 Daily Finals will be held during the series, each with a ¥50,000 guaranteed prize pool. The total prize pool for the Daily Missions is ¥2,100,000.
WPT Triple Ring Challenge
Players who win three WPT Rings on WPT Global will obtain an additional ¥3,000,000 bonus.
The challenge is not limited to a single series. Each player is automatically entered into the tournament after winning their first WPT Ring Event. The promotion is valid for any number of winners.
Our opinion on the WPT Asia Series: the pros and cons of the event
The WPT Asia Series: Overdrive is an extended six-week festival, with tournaments running for 42 days. Much of the schedule consists of MTTs from the regular WPT Global schedule.
The best value is likely to be found in the WPT Ring events, which offer an attractive balance between buy-ins and guaranteed prize pools. Unless you're aiming for a top finish on the leaderboard, these tournaments are probably the best targets. Buy-ins start at around $8, while entry into the higher-stakes Ring events is available via satellites.
One distinctive feature of the series is that all buy-ins and guarantees are listed in Chinese yuan. While this may seem unfamiliar to players outside Asia, it is expected to attract more recreational players from China, which can potentially have a positive impact on the field level.
The festival also caters to recreational players, not just high-volume grinders. Many participants will be able to complete daily missions and compete for prize money in freerolls.
