ACR Poker has launched The Moneymaker Minute, a weekly newsletter hosted by WSOP Main Event champion Chris Moneymaker. It will feature major tournament results, upcoming events, player stories, and the poker pro's personal recommendations. The first issue was released on October 28, and no separate sign-up is required: the newsletter is automatically delivered to all ACR Poker account holders every Wednesday.
The Moneymaker Minute brings together the biggest stories from the previous week and highlights what's coming up for ACR Poker players. It's more than a tournament calendar or a roundup of results: Moneymaker will also share his own insights and point readers toward opportunities worth checking out.
Each issue is expected to cover several key areas:
The newsletter goes out every Wednesday and is available exclusively to ACR Poker players. No separate registration is needed, as emails are automatically sent to all site users.
Moneymaker's goal is to help players keep up with the most interesting developments without having to check every result and announcement themselves. He promises readers "all the good stuff without all the work," combining poker news with humor and personal commentary.
Chris Moneymaker is best known for the defining victory of his poker career. In 2003, the former accountant qualified for the WSOP Main Event through an online satellite before going on to win the World Series of Poker's flagship tournament, defeating Sammy Farha heads-up. He took home $2.5 million for the win.
The victory became one of the defining moments in poker history and helped fuel a massive surge in the game's popularity. Its impact became known as the Moneymaker Effect: the story of an amateur who qualified through a low-cost online satellite and won the year's biggest tournament inspired countless players to try their hand at poker.
In 2019, Moneymaker was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. He continues to compete as a professional player and represents ACR Poker as an ACR Pro.
The new newsletter therefore draws on more than just its host's name recognition. Moneymaker has firsthand experience with modern online poker and is familiar with the ins and outs of ACR Poker.
The debut issue of The Moneymaker Minute, released on October 28, focuses on the results of the Dual Venom PKO events.
One player receiving special attention is Brazilian grinder Gabriel Tavares, known online as kingqueensuited. In October, he won the Sunday Banana tournament on two consecutive Sundays. His combined first-place payouts exceeded $204,000.
Stories like these will be a key part of the newsletter. It will cover not only well-known professionals but also players who make a name for themselves through major scores and impressive tournament runs.
The Moneymaker Minute will also keep players informed about new events and highlight tournaments approaching their final stages.
In the first issue, Moneymaker drew attention to the conclusion of the Halloween Mystery PKO series, which featured $650,000 in total guarantees. He also introduced two new events on ACR Poker:
The newsletter covers both completed tournaments and upcoming events worth watching. Its purpose isn't to replace the full ACR Poker tournament schedule, but to spotlight events that may interest players.
One of the newsletter's regular features will be Don't Punt This: My Pick of the Week. In this section, Chris Moneymaker will select a tournament, promotion, or other ACR Poker event that he believes deserves players' attention.
For the inaugural issue, he recommended the satellite schedule for the WSOP Paradise Main Event. Players can use these satellites to qualify for packages worth $30,000, with buy-ins starting at just $1.10.
The recommendation also ties into Moneymaker's own poker story. His path to winning the 2003 WSOP Main Event began with an online satellite, making qualifying tournaments a particularly interesting subject for him.
ACR Poker marked the launch of The Moneymaker Minute with a special reward for some recipients of the first issue.
Selected winners will receive a $1 On-Demand tournament ticket. The ticket can be used to enter the satellite steps leading to a WSOP Paradise Main Event package. It must be used by November 2, 2026.
Future issues may also feature additional giveaways and special offers.
Another goal of the project is to strengthen the connection between players and the site's poker community. The first issue invites readers to join the ACR Poker Telegram channel, where they can find news, player stories, updates, and information about giveaways.
With The Moneymaker Minute, ACR Poker has added a personalized roundup from one of the most recognizable players in poker history to its regular news and tournament announcements. The newsletter is aimed both at regular tournament grinders looking to stay on top of new opportunities and at players who simply want to keep up with the biggest developments at ACR Poker.
