In early September 2025, it became known about the complete transition of the European partypoker network (France and Spain) to iPoker.eu. Players' accounts will be automatically transferred to the new network and they will only have to download the new application. Why partypoker took this step, we will try to analyze in this article.

European Partypoker Network Is Moving to Ipoker

Euro-pool of partypoker is closing

As of September 2, 2025, users of partypoker.fr and partypoker.es will no longer be able to use the old client. When launching the application, they will be offered an “update”, which in fact will be the installation of a completely new client from iPoker.eu.

Players will keep:

  • Logins (except in cases where they match existing names in iPoker);
  • Balances and transaction history;
  • Personal data linked to the account.

If a user has accounts in both partypoker.eu and iPoker.eu, the company will offer to merge them while maintaining the overall balance.

Of course, the range of games and promotions will be different. The number of available tables in iPoker.eu is much larger than in partypoker.fr and partypoker.es, but the main traffic also comes from 6-max Hold'em tables.

In an official statement, partypoker representatives explained the decision to migrate by “the desire to provide users with an improved gaming experience”. In practice, this means the actual closure of the European poker room network.

By the way, back in February 2025, the French poker room PMU moved from the partypoker network to iPoker.

Reasons for migration

The European partypoker network has always remained a niche project with a limited amount of games - in the best years, at the peak of traffic, up to 300 connections were collected in cash games. In 2025, this figure decreased several times.

Key factors for the closure:

  • Fierce competition from market leaders - Winamax and PokerStars;
  • Change in the business model of the Entain holding, which owns the partypoker brand.

Entain relies on online betting and casinos, which bring in the bulk of the profits. Poker, as a less profitable and more of an image direction, turned out to be the first victim of optimization.

The situation has become more complicated on the global market. After partypoker left countries with unregulated online poker, the player pool has decreased, and almost all top professionals left the poker room team, including Patrick Leonard and Rob Yong, who actively developed the project until 2022.

The future of partypoker

Today, the main market with prospects for partypoker remains the USA, where the company continues to operate through licensed partners:

  • BetMGM Poker (common pool for three states: New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan);
  • Borgata PA Poker;
  • partypoker NJ.

Thus, the migration of the European network to iPoker has become a logical step for Entain: the company is leaving local markets where the brand's position has weakened and concentrating on more profitable and promising regions.
