GGPoker Omaha Rake: Is It Beatable?
GGPoker is the world leader in the number of Omaha games. The poker room offers 4-, 5-, 6-card PLO tables. Let's analyze all the features of the rake in Omaha at GGPoker and compare the rake in different online poker rooms.
What is the rake at GGPoker Omaha tables?
5% rake is taken at all stakes and types of Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) at GGPoker. This is a standard indicator for modern online poker. True, unlike other leading poker sites, GGPoker takes rake preflop if the pot size exceeds 2.5BB.
The rake size in Omaha is the same at both regular tables and fast poker tables (Rush&Cash).
Rake caps (maximum rake amount from the pot) change depending on the number of active players at the table and the bet size:
Blinds | Cap (2 Players) | Cap (3 Players) | Cap (4 Players) | Cap (5+ Players) |
---|---|---|---|---|
$0.01 | $0.02 | $0.02 | $0.03 | $0.05 | $0.06 |
$0.02 | $0.05 | $0.04 | $0.08 | $0.11 | $0.15 |
$0.05 | $0.10 | $0.08 | $0.15 | $0.23 | $0.30 |
$0.10 | $0.25 | $0.19 | $0.38 | $0.56 | $0.75 |
$0.25 | $0.50 | $0.25 | $0.50 | $0.75 | $1 |
$0.50 | $1 | $0.5 | $1.0 | $1.5 | $2 |
$1 | $2 | $1 | $2 | $3 | $4 |
$2 | $5 | $1,875 | $3,75 | $5,625 | $7,5 |
$5 | $10 | $3,75 | $7,5 | $11,25 | $15 |
$10 | $20 | $6,26 | $12,5 | $18,76 | $25 |
PLO rake comparison at major poker rooms
In terms of rake percentage at Omaha tables, GGPoker is no different from most competitors. The poker room takes a standard 5% commission.
Let's compare the new rake structure on GGNetwork with the leading competitors. Keep in mind that the indirect rake distribution system (PVI rake) still applies so that all comparisons will be entirely relative in terms of the rake assigned to the player.
Limits | GGPoker | BetOnline | RedStar Poker | WPT Global | ACR Poker | CoinPoker |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
PLO2$ | 5% | – | 6.67% | – | 5% | 5% |
PLO5$ | 5% | – | 6.67% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
PLO10$ | 5% | 5% | 6.67% | – | 5% | 5% |
PLO20-25$ | 5% | 5% | 5% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
PLO50$ | 5% | 5% | 5% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
PLO100$ | 5% | 5% | 5% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
PLO200$ | 5% | 5% | 5% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
PLO400-600$ | 5% | 5.56% | 5% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
PLO1,000$ | 5% | 5.56% | 5% | 4% | 5% | 5% |
Having compared the rake caps (with 5+ players at the table), we came to the following conclusions:
- GGPoker has the lowest rake caps (at least 2 times) up to and including the PLO10$ limit.
- At PLO25$, the caps are lower only at WPT Global. At PLO50,100$, both poker rooms have the same caps.
- Starting from PLO200$, ACR Poker has the smallest cap. GGPoker has some of the biggest Omaha caps in the industry as the limits increase.
Limits | GGPoker | BetOnline | RedStar Poker | WPT Global | ACR Poker | CoinPoker |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
PLO2$ | $0.06 | – | €0.50 | – | $3 | $0.20 |
PLO5$ | $0.15 | – | €0.50 | $0.1 | $3 | $0.40 |
PLO10$ | $0.30 | $1.50 | €2 | – | $3 | $0.70 |
PLO20-25$ | $0.75 | $2.50 | €2 | $0.4 | $3 | $1.50 |
PLO50$ | $1 | $3 | €3 | $1 | $3 | $2 |
PLO100$ | $2 | $3.50 | €4 | $2 | $3 | $2.50 |
PLO200$ | $4 | $4.50 | €4 | $4 | $3 | $3 |
PLO400-600$ | $7.5 | $7 | €4 | $8 | $3 | $4 |
PLO1,000$ | $15 | $8 | €4 | $20 | $3 | $6 |
Mind that when evaluating a poker room, the rake size is a very important, but not the only factor.
The final rake load is affected by the percentage of rakeback that the player receives.
It is also worth considering the presence of Omaha games at the required limit during the day and at peak hours; in this regard, all the main competitors are significantly inferior to GGPoker.
