As the countdown begins for the highly-anticipated $12.5 million Venom tournament, boasting its largest guarantee in history, we sat down with ACR Pro Katie Lindsey to get her favorite memories from past Venom tournaments and uncover their insights, strategies, and aspirations as they prepare for what promises to be a thrilling showdown at the felt.
Who is Katie Lindsay?
Before Black Friday, Katie was a poker agent. After 2011, she started playing herself and earned over $700k in live tournaments and $2M online. Katie scored her most significant result ($106,900) in ACR in 2018, taking 2nd place in the MDS $1,000,001 GTD for $215.
In 2015, she married Chris Moorman, and six months later, the couple became ambassadors of ACRPoker. In 2021 and 2022, Chris and Katie faced off against each other in the heads-up online tournaments of the WSOP Circuit series.

What are your favorite memories from previous Venom series?
One time I bagged a massive overall chip lead on day one of the Venom and it was pretty cool.
Is there a specific moment (e.g., tournament win, deep run) in past Venom series that you are proud of?
Sadly I’ve never had an impressive deep run. Even the time I bagged the big chip lead I finished like 124th. The good news is there are plenty of chances.
Can you recall a challenging hand or opponent that stands out in previous Venom tournaments?
You never want to see any great players on your table. Any aggressive players on your left always make things more difficult as well.
How has your approach to Venom evolved over the years?
I think like any poker player. You are just evolving as a player, picking up new tactics and trying to implement new strategies. My biggest goal will always be to try and not play every single hand. I really hate folding.
How do you typically prepare mentally and physically for a big online tournament series like Venom?
I always get up and get a workout in before I play. I make sure I have my monitor set up and everything else I will need so I can just focus on the poker.
What advice do you have for aspiring poker players looking to make their mark in online tournament series like Venom? Are there any lessons you've learned from past Venom tournament experiences that you would like to share?
Just keep studying and work hard. This is a fast and ever-changing game and you have to keep up.
What are you most looking forward to about this year's Venom?
I want to win more bounties than I did last time! Show me the money baby!
Why should people play this Venom?
People should play every Venom because you have a chance to become a millionaire in a matter of days playing from the comfort of your own home. What could be better?
What are the various ways that people can qualify for Venom?
There are so many satellites running at a range of buy-ins so you have so many chances to get in for cheaper. Also keep your eyes peeled for the ACR pros on Twitter. People are always doing giveaways for seats and satty tickets.
Have you ever played a Venom satellite or qualifier to secure your spot in the main event?
Winning your way in for cheaper is the best feeling! I did it last Venom and I’m on the hunt for a seat this year as well!
Ready to test your skills against the best? Secure your spot in the tournament lineup and play alongside ACR Poker Pros for your share of the $12.5M GTD prize pool. There are plenty of qualification routes for players to grab their Venom seat. These include The Beast and Step tournaments, as well as hundreds of seats up for grabs through Venom Fever satellites.
