Players can look forward to 92 tournaments covering not only NLH and PLO but also a wide range of niche game variants. The schedule includes over 400 satellites, starting with freerolls. The event features two promotions with a combined prize pool of 250,000 PHNM, plus WSOP Paradise tournament packages for leaderboard winners.

Features of the  series

Note: All buy-ins and guarantees are denominated in CHIP, Phenom Poker’s in-game currency, pegged to the US dollar at 1 CHIP = $1.

  1. The schedule features not only Hold'em and PLO tournaments but also events in PLO5, PLO6, Big O, 2-7 Triple Draw, Badugi, Razz, H.E.R.O.S., T.O.R.S.E., 8-Game, and other mixed games.
  2. Buy-ins range from 25 to 5,000 CHIP, though the majority of tournaments (76) have entry fees between 50 and 500 CHIP.
  3. Guarantees range from 1,000 to 50,000 CHIP. Events with prize pools of up to 15,000 CHIP appear most frequently on the schedule (72 MTTs).
  4. The most expensive tournament, Event #91, the 9-Game Mix Masters High Roller (5,000 CHIP), also boasts the series' largest guarantee: 50,000 CHIP.
  5. Over 400 satellites are available for series tournaments at all buy-in levels, with satellite action kicking off on October 2. Major events will feature two-level "Step" qualifiers; Step 1 buy-ins are set at 10% of the target tournament's entry fee. Players can also qualify for selected MTTs via freerolls.
  6. "Early Bird" Bonus: Players who register for PSOP tournaments before they begin will receive a 10% boost to their starting stack.

All PSOP events are listed in a dedicated tab in the Phenom Poker client. Available satellites can be found in the lobby of the respective target event.

Series players will also have access to additional promotions:

  • A 150,000 PHNM leaderboard. The top player will receive a package for the WSOP Paradise series Event #10 (8-Game Mixed, $1,000,000 GTD) worth  $16,000 (buy-in $10,000).
  • A "Chase" race featuring a total prize pool of 100,000 PHNM, with individual prizes of up to 3,000 PHNM. The top player will receive a package for the WSOP Paradise series Event #1 (Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty NLH, $5M GTD) worth $6,500 with a $2,500 buy-in.
  • A 150% reload bonus up to 3,000. Awarded upon making a subsequent deposit. To wager the bonus, players should generate rake equal to 3.5 times the bonus amount.

Leaderboard for 150,000 PHNM

Psop Leaderboard

Every time a player finishes in the money in any of the 92 PSOP tournaments, they earn points towards the overall ranking. The final score is calculated based on the player’s finish, along with several additional multipliers: the tournament buy-in, field size, and event format.

Base points are awarded according to the finishing position:

Buy-in multiplier:

  • $25 and $50: ×0.75
  • $100: ×1
  • $200: ×1.25
  • $500: ×1.5
  • $1,000: ×1.75
  • $5,000: ×4

Field-size multiplier:

  • Fewer than 50 participants: ×1
  • 50 participants or more: ×1.25
  • 100 participants or more: ×1.5
  • 150 participants or more: ×1.75
  • 200 participants or more: ×2
  • 300 participants or more: ×2.25
  • 500 participants or more: ×2.5

Tournament-format multiplier: All mixed-game tournaments receive an additional multiplier of ×1.2.

At the end of PSOP, the top 150 players will share a prize pool of 150,000 PHNM. The prizes will be distributed as follows:

PlacePHNM
1st25,000
2nd15,000
3rd10,000
4th–5th6,000
6th–10th3,000
11th–20th1,400
21st–50th800
51st–90th500
91st–150th250

All PHNM rewards will be locked for one year from the date they are awarded.

The leaderboard winner will also receive a package to WSOP Paradise Event #10 8-Game Mixed with a guarantee of  $1,000,000.  The tournament will take place on December 9, with a $10,000 buy-in and a total package value of $16,000.

Example of point calculation

The player takes 1st place in a tournament with a $500 buy-in and a field of 55 participants.

Points calculation:

  • For 1st place: 100 base points
  • Multiplier for $500 buy-in: ×1.5
  • Multiplier for field size (50+ participants): ×1.25
  • Multiplier for format: depends on the tournament type. An additional ×1.2 coefficient applies to mixed-discipline tournaments.

Calculation for a standard tournament: 100 × 1.5 × 1.25 = 187.5 points

Calculation for a mixed-game tournament: 100 × 1.5 × 1.25 × 1.2 = 225 points

PSOP Rally на 100,000 PHNM

The PSOP Rally promotion counts every buy-in for PSOP tournaments and satellites. All entries count, including re-entries and 1-CHIP satellites.

Points are awarded at a rate of 5 points for every 100 CHIP in buy-ins, equivalent to 0.05 points per CHIP. For example, eight 2.5-CHIP satellites earn 1 point in total. By comparison, a 100-CHIP tournament entry earns 5 points, while a 5,000-CHIP entry earns 250 points.

Points are awarded immediately after paying the entry fee for a tournament or satellite. The final result has no impact on the points earned: even if a player busts on the first hand, they still keep the points awarded for the buy-in.

PSOP Rally features eight reward levels, with prizes ranging from 25 to 3,000 PHNM. Every player who reaches a level receives the corresponding reward, regardless of the results of other participants.

600 points1,500 PHNM

The reward is paid for the highest level reached, and rewards from previous levels don't stack.

The highest level requires 1,000 points, corresponding to 20,000 CHIP in total buy-ins. For comparison, playing all 92 series tournaments with a single entry in each would require 28,900 CHIP in buy-ins.

The player who earns the most PSOP Rally points will also receive a package to WSOP Paradise Event #1: Circuit Championship Mystery Bounty NLH $5M GTD. The tournament starts on December 2, with a $2,500 buy-in and a total package value of $6,500.

Promotional rewards are paid within 14 days after the series ends and the final results are confirmed. PHNM is credited directly to the player’s Phenom account. Package winners receive a dedicated email with instructions on arranging their trip. Packages are non-transferable and can’t be sold to third parties.

PSOP: our opinion on the series

Phenom Poker’s inaugural series builds on the room’s distinctive approach since launch, with a focus on niche poker variants and mid- to high-stakes games.

Phenom Poker is still a relatively new project and doesn’t offer million-dollar guarantees, but in our view, PSOP is a genuinely interesting series that stands out from the vast majority of modern tournament series.

Here are the key advantages we see:

  • Out of 92 tournaments, only 16 will be conducted under standard NLH and PLO rules; the remaining events feature various forms of Omaha, mixed games, draw games, Dramaha, Badugi, and Razz.
  • There is a massive number of satellites (over 400), and players are able to qualify for the largest guaranteed tournaments via freerolls, a logical move given that most events in the series have a minimum buy-in of $50.
  • Two additional promotions for series players: alongside the standard leaderboard, there is the "PSOP Rally," where you compete against yourself and earn a guaranteed prize upon reaching a specific level. WSOP Paradise packages for winners will provide extra motivation for grinders.
  • During the series, cash game players can take advantage of a large reload bonus of up to 3,000 CHIP and earn an additional 28.6% in rakeback.

Of course, if you’re not a fan of rare poker variants, PSOP may not have much to offer. Even so, the series is worth checking out for its smaller fields and the chance to play against Viktor Blom, Dan Cates, Brian Rast, and other Phenom Poker ambassadors.
