Hot Action in Phil Hellmuth’s Home Game Featuring Tom Dwan and Jungleman

Phil Hellmuth had a decent World Series by his standards, cashing in six events, and coming agonizingly close to his 18th bracelet with a runner-up finish in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em 8-handed event.

However, when he sat down to play in his very own Hellmuth’s Home Game presented by Poker Night in America, all that lay ahead of him in the uncertain future — this show was filmed in April 2026 at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno, Nevada. 

Poker Night in America, a poker show airing on CBS Sports since 2014, has just recently released Day 2 of the cash game session. It featured some real marquee names in the world of poker, such as online poker legends Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Daniel “Jungleman” Cates, Chinese-Canadian poker pro Xuan Liu, and — evidently — the man himself, Phil Hellmuth.

What is unique about Hellmuth’s Home Game streams is that, unlike other poker streams, it lacks commentators. All the audio is coming from the mic'd-up players at the table.

The game was $25/$50 No Limit Hold’em with a $50 big blind ante. DoorDash co-founder Stanley Tang came to the table certainly expecting some major action, as he bought in for a cool $1 million.

Top Set for Jungleman, Flush for Dwan in Hellmuth’s Home Game

The two online greats, Jungleman and Dwan, clashed in a major pot early into the game.

Cates picked up two black Kings, ♠K♣K, and raised to $200 from UTG+1. Tang called on the button with ◆K♥8, while Dwan completed from the small blind with ♣J♣9. Randall Emmett also came along with the speculative hand of ♠5◆3 from the big blind.

Jungleman must have been happy to see the last King in the deck hit the flop, giving him top set. However, that street also brought Dwan a flush draw with ♥K♣A♣4 on the board. Cates c-bet for $300, which was called by Dwan. Tang with top pair-bad kicker and Emmett with a gutshot straight draw also flatted.

The ♣Q on the turn completed Dwan’s flush. After two checks from Dwan and Randall, Cates sized up to $700, which got Tang and Emmett out of the way. However, evidently, Dwan stayed in the pot, deciding to slowplay his flush with just a call.

The ♠7 on the river did not bring Cates the pair on the board he might not have even known he needed. A third check from Dwan certainly gave hom the illusion that he was likely holding the best hand, so he bet again, $2,500 this time. Dwan went for the check-raise, bumping it to $9,000. However, he did not get paid. Cates, sensing danger, decided to let go of his top set.

Jungle also got the worst of it with ◆A♥K. Tang got very sticky with ♠9♠4, which paid off for him this time, as he turned a straight on a ♠2◆5◆3♠6 board, which even improved to a flush on a ♠8 river. Since Jungle bluffed it all-in with a gutshot straight draw on the turn, an $84K pot went Tang’s way, one of the biggest of the night.
