The World Series of Poker begins May, 27. Here is a short guide of what will happen at Horseshoe & Paris Casinos in Las Vegas, Nevada this summer.

Wsop 2025 What Should I Pay Attention To

The Most Prestigious Tournaments

  • №81: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event
  • №66: $50,000 Poker Players Championship

$10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event

This is the dream tournament for everyone. The place where everyone has their own dramatic story. It could be a guy who’s saved $10,000 just for one buy-in or a birthday present. Someone will inevitably bust in a brutal cooler during the first hour while another will have the luckiest run of his life.

This is the 2-week marathon. This year, there will be a day-off before The Final Table starts, but that is not enough for 60-year-old Phil Hellmuth who still doesn’t want to play The Main Event because of a cruel schedule. Hellmuth would prefer an additional day off after Day 3 or Day 4. However, most of the players are pretty optimistic about The Main Event classic non-stop schedule with 2-hour levels despite lack of sleep for those who will be able to deep run the biggest tournament of the year.

Are we really going to miss another creative entrance by Phil? Will there be more than 10,000 entries again like it was in 2023 and 2024? We’ll get our answers very soon.

Dates: July 2-16.

$50,000 Poker Players Championship

Here is another dream tournament but in this case it’s more about professional players getting their reward for years and years of grind. Daniel Negreanu was absolutely flattered when he won the Players Championship last year. What more proof do you need?

“There is one event in the world I want to play more than any and I wanted to win more than any, and it’s this one. This is the one. Obviously, the Main Event is special in a different way. But this one is all the best players in the world, pro-heavy field, playing 100-minute levels, days and days of grind, 12 hours a day. So to come out on top, you can’t fluke that”.

Started in 2006 as $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. World Championship, that tournament has been gaining popularity among the best quite fast. In 2010 it became the eight-game Players Championship and then ten years later one more game (NL 2-7 Lowball Draw) was added to the structure sheet. The list of previous champions is full of famous professional players which proves Daniel Negreanu’s point very well. Michael Mizrachi and Brian Rust have won The Players Championship three times while Dan “Jungleman” Cates made himself part of the history winning the title back-to-back in 2021 and 2022.

Dates: June 24-29.

The Most Massive Tournaments

  • №1: $1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Millions Bounty
  • №19: $500 No-Limit Hold'em COLOSSUS
  • №53: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Millionaire Maker
  • №67: $300 No-Limit Hold’em Gladiators of Poker $3 Million GTD

$1,000 No-Limit Hold’em Mystery Millions Bounty

The very first tournament of the 2025 WSOP edition is expecting a gigantic field. Last year there were 18,409 entries for 4 flights. This year, it will be 5 flights, which makes a new attendance record an easy target.

The winner of the tournament will get at least $1,000,000. There also will be two big bounties $1,000,000 each. Last year, Valentyn Shabelnyk won one of the biggest bounties and his stone-cold face became a meme. What are you expecting this year: an emotional run through the entire casino or quite restrained emotions from another grinder?

Dates: May 27 – June 3.

$500 No-Limit Hold'em COLOSSUS

The Colossus debuted in 2015 and has lived up to its name ever since. There were 22,374 entries in the first edition of The Colossus – which was the record back then. The buy-in increases by $100 compared with last year but we doubt this will stop players from participating and seeking the opportunity to win more than 1,000 buy-ins!

Dates: June 4-10.

$1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Millionaire Maker

The key point of this tournament is once again in its title. We’re expecting more than 10,000 registrations and there will be at least $1,000,000 for the winner. However, the last two winners – Franco Spitale from Argentina and Pavel Plesuv from Moldova – earned about $1,200,000, while the runner-ups reached the $1,000,000 mark as well.

Dates: June 18-25.

$300 No-Limit Hold’em Gladiators of Poker $3 Million GTD

This is the lowest buy-in tournament you can find on the WSOP schedule. Also, it’s the only tournament with a guaranteed prize pool. But $3,000,000 doesn’t feel like a high milestone. In the last two years there were more than 20,000 entries leading to $5,000,000 in prize pools. So once again we’re expecting a massive field there and this is another great opportunity for a recreational player to win life-changing money.

Dates: June 25 – Jule 1.

The Most Expensive Tournaments

Santosh Suvarna WSOP

  • №46: $250,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller
  • №79: $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller

$250,000 No-Limit Hold’em Super High Roller

Now it’s time to introduce the most expensive tournament of the WSOP. The highest limit right now is $250,000. Last year there were 75 entries, and Indian casino magnate Santhosh Suvarna won his second WSOP bracelet. Will Suvarna’s success be new motivation for other businessmen to challenge the greatest pro poker players?

Dates: June 15-18.

$100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller

This is the new tournament in the WSOP schedule. There are no PLO tournaments that big before. In the last two series $50K PLO was pretty popular, so organizers probably decided to expand options for Omaha players.

Dates: July 1-4.

Other notable tournaments with at least $50,000 buy-ins will be:

  • №32: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em (June 9-12);
  • №38: $100,000 No-Limit Hold’em (June 11-14);
  • №57: $50,000 Pot-Limit Omaha (June 20-23);
  • №88: $50,000 No-Limit Hold’em (July 9-12).

This is just a small glimpse of what’s coming this summer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Players will be hunting for 100 bracelets in live tournaments not to mention online events. Do not miss the action and subscribe to our telegram channel Natural Born Bumhunters
