Legendary Swedish player Viktor ”Isildur1" Bloom returned to the final table of a major tournament after six years. And although Bloom failed to win the bracelet of Event #47: $100,000 High Roller of the WSOP 2024, his third position earned him the largest payout of his career - $1,311,091.

Isildur1 is back

The superstar of the highest online games of the Full Tilt Poker and PokerStars era, Isildur1, was “hidden” since Black Friday and rarely made headlines. We last wrote about him when he won the partypoker MILLIONS Main Event in Rozvadov. Six years later, Bloom's visit to the WSOP proved very successful.

Viktor ”Isildur1" Bloom took the third position in Event #47: $100,000 High Roller of the 2024 WSOP, collecting $1,311,091, the largest prize of his career.

This is in addition to the fact that the player finished third in the $50k high roller days earlier, collecting $951,727.

Prior to this ”warm-up," Bloom finished fourth in the $1,500 Mixed Games and 14th in the $10,000 PLO Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship.

If we consider that the World Series schedule includes more than 50 tournaments, Isildur will likely cash again.

Isildur vs Sauron

Chris Hunichen Win 100 K Hiigh Roller Wsop 2024

The $100k high roller received 112 entries, and of course, the best players in the world participated. Even so, Bloom arrived at the third day of play with one of the largest stacks among the six finalists.

Unfortunately for the Swede, the final table did not favor him. Upon reaching the TOP3, Chris Hunichen doubled against Jeremy Ausmus 55 vs. AJ by connecting a 5 on the river and against Bloom on an A6 vs. AK when, again, the river brought him the card he needed.

Chris knocked out Viktor in the third position. The Swede's KJ connected on the board, but the turn gave Hunichen a flush that decreed the end of the hand.

Hunichen was consecrated as the tournament champion an hour later, collecting $2,838,389 and adding his first golden bracelet.

As a curious fact, in the final definition, Hunichen's friends started calling him by the name of the antagonist of “Isildur” in The Lord of the Rings saga: “Sauron.”
