Argentine poker pro Nacho Barbero has officially joined the WPT Global Ambassador team. The player himself admitted that the appointment was a surprise to him, especially in light of his recent split with ACR Poker.

"I was surprised to get an offer from WPT"

That's what Nacho Barbero said on The Chip Race podcast when commenting on his new contract. The story looks especially interesting given his recent dismissal from ACR Poker after a scandal involving allegations of third-party software use and harsh statements about the platform.

And regarding his past, Barbero said:

"I made two stupid mistakes in the past, but anyone who knows me knows I would never cheat."

Speaking about what he can bring to WPT Global, the player noted:

"I get attention on TV. I think I'm very funny, people like my content. People are interested in watching me because I know how to entertain."

And, concluding the topic, he added:

"I'm very happy that I was given a second chance because I bring value to poker."

Why does WPT Global need such an ambassador?
