GGNetwork has come to the rescue of another live brand that decided to switch to the Internet. The first Asia Poker League Online Series will kick off in three days — February 1, 2021. Its total guaranteed prize pool will be $12,000,000.

After holding the Asian Poker Tour and WPT Asia in 2020, the Asia Poker League will take place at the virtual tables on GGNetwork (GGPoker, Natural8).

The first APL Online Series features $12,000,000 (¥ 80,000,000) in guaranteed prizes and will be played from February 1 to 21, 2021.

This festival will have many exciting features:

The schedule includes 16 Trophy Events and over a hundred side tournaments.
Major tournament winners will receive unique prizes.
Leaderboards will be held every week with ¥100,000 in prizes for the players of the winning countries.
All tournaments start in the morning or afternoon (European time) for the convenience of Asian players.
Buy-ins and guarantees for most events are in Chinese yuan.
7 Trophy Events will be played in other Asian currencies.

APL Online Series Main Event

APL Trophy #16: Main Event will become the largest RMB tournament in online poker history. Its ¥10,000,000 prize pool is about one and a half million dollars. With a $291.4 buy-in, this event may well earn the name of the Chinese Sunday Million.

This tournament will need to collect over 5,000 entries to cover the guaranteed prize pool, for which it will feature 26 starting days from February 15 to 21. Satellites will be played throughout the series.

GGNetwork decided to hold the APL Online Series in February for a reason: on the 12th of this month, the Chinese New Year is celebrated, and in China, there will be a whole week off due to the holiday.
