3-Blind Hold'em at GGPoker

Features

In late January 2023, new tables were added to the GGPoker lobby. They had the following features:

1. Three blinds: small, large, and third (twice the BB). Hence the “3-Blind" name.
2. Ante.
3. 8-max.

And although the format is presented as new, it is not a novelty for online poker. Similar tables have been working in mobile poker rooms focused on Chinese players for a long time. The third blind is the same straddle that was made mandatory for UTG1.

Thanks to that and ante, even before the flop, a large amount of “dead” money is already in the center of the table, which leads to an increase in the level of action.

Limits

• $0.01/$0.02/$0.04 (ante $0.01)
• $0.02/$0.05/$0.10 (ante $0.02)
• $0.05/$0.10/$0.20 (ante $0.05)

Rake

Race

A daily $1,924 race has been launched, especially for these tables.

*Payments are made in cash dollars C$.

Points are awarded for the rake hands played. Every day from 10:00 to 11:00 CET+2, points are given with an x1.5 multiplier. At the end of the happy hour, a new rating starts.

Traffic

As expected, 3-Blind tables attracted the attention of poker players from China and other Asian countries.

There is an action on all three limits throughout the day. In European time, the cheapest stake reaches about 50 tables, the other two – 20 each. During peak hours, these figures double.

Game Strategy

1. Attack the blinds more often. Ideally, the hunt for “dead” money should be conducted from a late position when all opponents have folded before you.
2. Keep an eye on the opponents, and make notes on them, especially on those who try to take advantage of their position. Counter-aggression on open raises will bring you additional profit.

3-Blind Hold'em can be profitable due to the greater number of weak players attracted by the novelty and the need for regulars to switch to a strategy different from the usual 6-max without straddle and ante.
