Crazy Brawl Breaks Out at Hustlers Casino Poker Room

Video of Hustlers Poker Fight Surfaces on Twitter

The Twitter account GrindeFace TV posted a video earlier this week of a fight breaking out at the poker room at the Hustler Casino in Gardena, California. The video currently has 3,000 likes and over 315,000 views.

In it, you can see a bald, overweight, middle-aged man with glasses accosting a younger, shorter man donning a beard with thick, dark hair. The bald man repeatedly calls his foe “a bitch”, but the first punches are thrown by the bearded man after he was told “yo mama”.

A few other hits are aimed at each other, none of them connecting really well. The bald man is seen getting some distance, then picking up a small table and hitting his opponent over the head with it. 

Thankfully, at this point, security steps in. They manage to hit the table throwing menace with both prongs of a taser gun, thus he falls to the ground, letting out an entertaining scream. A taser is a non-lethal weapon that sends an electric shock through two wires to a target. The electric shocks cause so-called “neuromuscular incapacitation”. The person hit loses control of their muscles, collapsing to the ground in pain.

Three players who were involved in the fight are now permanently banned from the casino, casino GM Shaun Yaple told pokernews.com. However, none of them were willing to press charges, so no criminal investigation will be conducted into the matter.

From the available footage, it seems the bald man (who ended up being tased) initiated the verbal altercation, but it was actually the smaller, bearded gentleman who escalated it to a physical fight by throwing the first punch. 

The location, Hustlers in California, is very familiar to most poker fans these days. They recently hosted a high-stakes, live streamed cash game extravaganza with online superstars MrBeast, Alex Botez, and xQc. Poker legends Phil Hellmuth and Tom Dwan were also in the game.

Poker pro Sam Lee even facetiously replied to the tweet, saying:

 “Just another day at the Hustler Casino in Gardena, California”.

Other Famous Poker Room FIghts

A good old scuffle in a poker room tends to be enjoyed by the fans of the game on the internet.

So far, the most famous one took place at a Harrah’s Casino in New Orleans, Louisiana in May 2015. The video of that incident has almost 1.2 million views on YouTube, as of the time of writing this.

It famously features one of the players repeatedly yelling “security’s on the way”. However, the fight lasts around two minutes, with no security guard in sight till the end…

While it technically was no fight, we have to give an “honorable mention” to the peculiar events that took place during the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event in July 2019. A man threw one of his shoes at the dealer. Then, he proceeded to pull his pants down and expose himself for the whole Amazon poker room at the Rio to see.
