Daniel Negreanu Makes Epic Comeback on Hustler Casino Live Debut

8-time WSOP gold bracelet winning poker legend Daniel Negreanu made his first appearance on the popular poker cash game stream Hustler Casino Live on Friday, August 28th.

He played an 8-hour session of $100/$200/$400 No Limit Hold’em at the Hustler Casino in Gardena, California, against opponents such as Ethan “RampagePoker” Yau, Samer “Señor Tilt” Kiki, Nik “Airball” Arcot, and Andy “Stacks” Tsai. “DNegs” bought in for his first Hustler game for $200,000, a super deep 500 Big Blinds. Only Nik Airball had him covered at the start of the stream with $300,000, while most other players bought in for “only” $50,000.

Unfortunately for him, Negreanu’s stack kept diminishing for the first couple of hours. At one point, the poker legend was down $169,000 for the night. 

In the hand that got his stack down to just $31K, his pocket Jacks ran into 3Coin’s pocket Queens. The two got it all in on the ◆9♠8♠3 flop, along with Jellyfish, who had ♥10♣9 in the hole. No help came for Negreanu, thus the equity favorite 3Coin claimed the massive $187,000 pot.

However, old Dnegs has climbed out of bigger holes before.

He managed to turn this night around as well: he ended the session with a $73,000 profit!

Daniel Negreanu’s Big Bluff Against Señor Tilt

The hand that got the most buzz on social media after the stream was played between Negreanu and “Señor Tilt” Kiki.

Negreanu chose to just limp in for the $800 straddle from UTG with a surprisingly strong hand for that action, ◆A♠Q. After Señor Tilt’s raise to $6.000 with ♠K◆J from UTG+2, only Negreanu and Dr. H with ♠A♠2 stayed in the pot for the flop.

◆3◆2◆K were dealt on the board, giving Negreanu the nut flush draw and Señor Tilt top pair with a Jack-high flush draw. The flop checked through. Despite the ♣7 not changing the board structure, Negreanu decided to take the betting lead with a small $6,000 open. Señor Tilt just called, while Dr. H got out of the way. 

The caller improved to two pair on the ♥J river. Negreanu checked, to which Señor Tilt decided to bet $20,000. DNegs then found the wits to turn his nut flush blocker into an audacious check-raise bluff, and bumped it up to $75,000. While tanking, Señor Tilt stated out loud that he believed Negreanu had a set — and he went with his intuition, ultimately letting go of the better hand, forfeiting the $127,000 pot to Negreanu.
