GGPoker: Licensed by the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission
Until today, GGPoker has been operating with Curacao's license, one of the most popular but less reputable gambling markets, mainly because they don't have a regulatory body.

- Taxes are lower, the Isle of Man charges from 0.1% (over £40 million profit) and 1.5% up to £20 million. Curacao charges a 2% flat rate.
- The Isle of Man is included in the whitelist of the Commonwealth, helping to strengthen their position in the UK.
We should not forget that Curacao announced several changes to its gambling licenses, modifying the tax structure, but most importantly, asking operators to comply with domestic legislation. Recall that GGNetwork operates on several gray markets like Asia.
Overall, GGPoker will gain trustworthiness by switching their gambling license to the Isle of Man, and probably saving money on taxes, leading to better promotions.
How does the license change affect players?
As we explained before, a Curacao license wasn't beneficial for players, as they didn't have a regulatory body overseeing the operators. The Isle of Man Gambling Commission has a better reputation, is aimed at responsible gaming, and offers better player protection. The last point is crucial when it comes to disputes between the player and the poker room.
According to the press release, the players only need to accept the new terms and conditions (a pop-up window) and submit KYC documents if those have not been sent before.
In the following months, we should see what other changes arise due to the change of license, probably the site must left some gray markets to comply with new regulatory requirements.
