Winning Poker Network (WPN) introduces its 2.0 client
Exactly three years after switching to the new software engine, Winning Poker Network renewed its lobby (interface and structure). You will learn about all the features of PokerKing 2.0 in this article.
The poker client is the face of any room, a crucial element along with bonuses and traffic, so changes in it are monitored with special care by poker players and affect their gaming experience.
On July 5, 2023, Winning Poker Network launched version 2.0 of its client across all skins: PokerKing, Americas Cardroom, Black Chip Poker.
All lobbies and menus were redesigned. Let's dive into the details.
Main lobby and table design
The player first sees the window we have set as a thumbnail for this article.
The main thing that catches your eye, after a large and bright background banner, is the new aspect ratio of the client window. By default, it is 1600 x 900 pixels.
If you try to resize the window, the client will stretch down.
The home page comprises various banners with current room promotions and videos.
Above and below them are the following elements:
- Horizontal single-level game menu (it used to be multi-level and was oversaturated with elements). Casino and Sports are included here.
- A small player section (top right corner) lets you view the cashier, profile, settings, messages, and VIP program page.
- A carousel with banners of races, including Daily Double jackpot tournaments.
- In the lower menu, we have direct access to responsible gaming resources, FAQ, license, RNG, mobile app, players online, and languages (4 so far, including Spanish and Portuguese).
The gaming tables and their settings have changed minimally. The cards are bigger, and the cloth has a visual tilt and a 3-D frame with a backlight.
Cash Games Lobby
The number of items in the game menu here is reduced to 4: the three most popular formats: NLH, PLO, PLO5, and “Other Games" (Stud). You can activate any of the items or a combination of them.
To the right is the “Full Tables” button, which allows you to hide or show those in the lobby.
A golden arrow on the right lets you activate filters and switch to the Waiting List window, where you can choose similar features.
You cannot queue for a specific table.
Filters
The filters allow you to choose what tables you want to see in the lobby by:
- Format: 7 Day No Rathole, All-in or Fold, Blitz, Bomb Pot, Cap (20BB or 40BB), Standard
- Stakes: Micro, Low, Mid, High, or custom range
- Players: HU, 4-max, 8-max, 9-max, minimum players
- Bet type: NLH, PLO, Limit
Table list
The list of cash tables is now divided into blocks by stakes from high to low. A “New Tables” button is added next to each limit, hiding empty tables from the list. A “Join” button and an eye icon have been added for each specific table to open it in viewing mode.
Blitz (fast-fold poker) has its own tab: all games can be easily accessed from here; you can hide tables only by format (Hold'em and Omaha).
New rule for cash games:
You cannot open a new table if there is already an empty table on the limit in the lobby. If several tables have only 1 player, the last created is closed.
Tournament Lobby
We have fewer tabs now:
- Daily Tournaments
- Satellites
- Private
- On-Demand
The list of tournaments itself is divided into three parts:
- Hot - highlighted tournaments.
- Yours - active events or tournaments highlighted by the player.
- All tournaments. There is a cross at the beginning of the line of each event. It allows you to add a tournament to the second section.
To sort the tournaments, click on the middle bar (the one that says Tournament Name, Buy-In, Prize Pool) and click on your selection in the pop-up window.
Clicking on the golden arrow in the tournament lobby shows windows with information about the tournament and filters.
Tournament Staking is included in the next tab with an MTT list, markup, entries, players you are staking, your stakes offer, and your favorite players.
Spin & Go Lobby
The changes here are not only aesthetic. The buy-ins were greatly reduced, and all Jackpots Omaha were removed.
Three games are available in Hold'em: $5, $15, and $50. All with a grand prize of $1M.
Cashier
There were no big changes here. The vertical menu sections and their interface have remained the same:
- Cahier Account
- Financial History
- Ticket Manager
- Bankroll Beneficiaries
- Rewards (Bonuses, Loyalty Program, races)
Conclusion
The developers of the client and the ambassador Chris Moneymaker called this update the largest in the network's history.
The 2.0 client gave WPN rooms a new modern lobby design and many new “chips" in terms of usability.
Time will tell how it will affect the application's stability and how much players will like it.
