Owen Pr0digy Messere Wins Coin Poker First Cash Game World Championship

The first-ever Cash Game World Champion

From early December 2024 until January 13, the world's online poker elite played rake-free NL10k on CoinPoker as part of the Cash Game World Championship.

The player who won the most money (both in EV and overall) was high roller Owen Messer, who received a $50,000 Rolex and the first-ever Online Cash Games World Champion title. In 43,259 hands Messer won $591k (13.6BB/100) and an incredible $681k in cash.

Pr0digy's victory is even more impressive when you consider that after the first week of the challenge, he finished with losses of $22,000, and only in the third week did he start to fight for the top spots.

Owen Messer is 26 years old. Before playing poker, he played chess. Messer specializes in NLHE Heads-up and 6-max. Within two years, he moved from micro stakes to NL1k.

Who else cashed?

Second place went to “riggedeck” (who plays under the nickname “headsup-bet” on PokerStars). He spent the entire weekend competing with Owen, with whom he eventually agreed to play 1,000 more hands on the final day of the tournament. “riggedeck” went from having $435 to $302k in EV.

Bronze went to Linus (+$258k in EV, +$194k in money), and although he didn’t win, his run was incredible. Loeliger led by over $300k early on, lost it all and went into the negative, and in the last few weeks he smashed the tables to get back up.
