Ignition Poker hosts hundreds of tournaments throughout the week, with a combined guaranteed prize pool of at least $2 million. The largest events on the tournament schedule are the Sunday $200K GTD and the High Roller $100K GTD, which take place on Sundays. Numerous satellites with buy-ins starting at $1 run throughout the week leading up to the first tournament.

Sunday at Ignition Poker

For tournament players, Ignition Poker offers a large daily selection of dozens of MTTs with varying buy-ins. The weekly schedule culminates in two flagship events on Sundays:

  1. Sunday $200K GTD. Starts at  4pm ET.
  2. High Roller $100K GTD. Starts at  6pm ET.

Sunday $200K GTD

Ignition Poker’s tournament with the largest guarantee has a $162 buy-in and the following structure:

  • Starting stack: 200,000 chips (400 BB)
  • Blinds increase every 12 minutes.
  • Late registration is open for 20 levels. Up to 5 re-entries are permitted.

If your bankroll isn’t suitable for a direct buy-in to the Sunday $200K GTD, you can qualify for the tournament through a wide range of satellites running throughout the week.

High Roller's Path

For players who prefer fast, SnG-style satellites, daily 6-max $200K Satellite (Hyper Turbo) tournaments are available for $33. The prizes include one $162 tournament ticket and $18 in cash. There are also $6.60 step satellites called $200K Sub-Satellite (Hyper Turbo), awarding one $33 tournament ticket and $3 in cash.

High Roller $100K GTD

The $100K GTD High Roller features a relatively low buy-in for a tournament of this category, just $325.

Much like the Sunday $200K GTD, this high roller event offers a very deep structure:

  • Starting stack: 20,000 chips (400 BB)
  • Blinds increase every 12 minutes.
  • Late registration is open for 19 levels. Up to 4 re-entries are permitted.

On Sunday, there is a $38.50 satellite for the tournament, with a guarantee of 10 tickets worth $325 each.

Sunday Specials tournaments: our opinion

Ignition Poker’s flagship tournaments may not set records for prize pool size, but in our view, they have several distinct advantages over Sunday events at other poker rooms:

  • A very slow structure, even in major tournaments. After 90 minutes of play, the starting stack is still worth 100 BB. This allows you to play at a comfortable pace for several hours without being forced into risky pushes.
  • A limited number of re-entries. Players tend to be more protective of their stacks and make fewer questionable decisions.
  • An extensive satellite network for the Sunday $200K GTD. Players can realistically qualify for the event regardless of their bankroll size.

However, new players at Ignition Poker should keep in mind that opponents remain anonymous even in tournaments, with table names displayed as Player1, Player2, and so on. HUDs are also unavailable, so players need to pay much closer attention to their opponents’ actions.
