€500,000 GTD Unibet Online Series XV in February 2022
Unibet Poker announced its second tournament series this year. Traditionally, it will be the Unibet Online Series (15th edition). It boasts a total guarantee of half a million euros across 105 events this time. You will learn about all the features of the festival from this article.
Number 15
The European poker room Unibet Poker has not been trying to surprise its players in terms of the variety of tournament series for five years. During this time, it has been mostly using a single brand, which, according to the organizers, should be paired with a live Unibet Open festival.
The poker room hosts several such online series per year. In 2022, the first of them starts in 4 days:
From February 20 to March 7, a minimum of €500,000 will be awarded across 105 Unibet Online Series XV events.
If we turn to the history of UOS, then this guaranteed prize pool can be called average. Still, it is $100K less than the last such event, which took place at the end of 2021. This reduction is related to the most expensive events (€50+ buy-ins), so nothing would change for the lower-stakes players regarding the prize money.
The full Unibet Online Series XV schedule is available here.
Major events
Traditionally, all events with buy-ins ranging from €0.25 to €1,100 are divided into four groups: Nano (€0.5 and €1), Low (€5 and €10), Mid (€25 and €50), High (€100+). The guarantees in the first 3 groups do not exceed €15,000.
Taking into account the buy-ins, the following events can be highlighted:
- February 20-21 – €500 E4 UOS Rebuy Nano 2-Days (€1 buy-in).
- February 21 and 28 – €4,000 UOS Rebuy Low (€10 buy-in).
- February 20-21 – €15,000 E2 UOS Rebuy Mid 2-Days (€50 buy-in).
- March 6-7 (Main Event) – €125,000 E97 UOS Unibet Open Online High 2-Days (€1,100 buy-in).
- And two more events with guarantees of €40K each – E98 UOS Supermoon Bounty High 2-Days (€250 buy-in), E49 UOS Unibet Open Rebuy High 2-Days (€100 buy-in).
Six of the nine Omaha events will be held on February 22-23. The largest will be the €5,000 E22 UOS Omaha Rebuy Mid (€50 buy-in).
Leaderboards
While keeping the same prize pool as last year (€21,000), the series’ leaderboards have several changes:
- The number of paid places has been reduced, especially for the Overall Leaderboard (5 times less). This will significantly increase the competition between the regular participants of the series but offer bigger payouts for the best of them at the same time.
- Nano-events participants will have to get into the Top-3 in any of them to qualify for a special freeroll (€1,000 in tickets GTD).
- The winners of all 5 leaderboards will receive $1,000 vouchers, which can be used to buy any Upswing Poker School educational courses.
Players will receive 1 point for each tournament played. Additional points are awarded only in case of getting into the top 17% according to the following formula:
1.5 * SQRT(n) / SQRT(k) * b
- k - your final position
- n - number of players
- b - fixed multiplier (Low - 2.5, Mid - 4, High - 4).
