GGPoker has launched a promotion, symbolically titled "Olive Branch." It is designed for players who have violated the rules or believe their ban was unfair. The poker room offers a chance to reconsider past decisions and perhaps return to the tables.

«Olive Branch» Initiative

According to the GGPoker blog, the goal of the initiative is to enable "repentant poker players" and those who feel unfairly punished to return to the game. The announcement notes that people, like poker itself, are capable of change and development.

Until October 1, 2025, anyone wishing to be unbanned can send a request in English to [email protected] with the subject line "Olive Branch Application."

The request must include:

  • username;
  • full name (last name, first name, and middle name, if applicable);
  • a detailed explanation of the reasons why the player is requesting a reinstatement review;
  • identity and residential address verification documents;
  • a selfie with the identification document.

The documents must be clear and fully visible, otherwise the application may be rejected.

After the application deadline, applications will be reviewed individually until November 1, 2025. Each player will then be notified of the decision.

Interestingly, GGPoker doesn't specify the specific violations for which a player can expect "forgiveness." Everything is decided on a case-by-case basis. However, it emphasizes that serious violations of security and fair play rules will not allow a player to return to the largest online poker pool today.

Conclusion

The "Olive Branch" promotion is an exceptional move by GGPoker, giving banned players a chance to reconsider their status. This is the third such move: the first two took place in 2020 and 2022.

The biggest question that has traditionally generated the most attention is whether some well-known players will be able to return to the poker room. Tom Santern has a good chance. A year and a half ago, he rather recklessly decided to play the GGMillion$ final table in France immediately after winning an EPT tournament. The incident received widespread publicity, and Santern has not appeared at GGPoker since.

However, Ali Imsirovic, who was banned for using software and multiple accounts, will likely not even submit a request due to the severity of his violations.

Overall, the promotion seems to be a signal that GGPoker is ready to give a second chance to those willing to admit their mistakes and return to fair play.
