CoinPoker's Team Pro has a new addition. The "grandpa of online poker," John "apestyles" Van Fleet, announced his signing with the poker room. The American has been grinding MTTs for almost 20 years and has been regularly streaming his game for the past four years.
On October 10, 2025, John "apestyles" Van Fleet and CoinPoker announced the start of their partnership on social media. That same evening, the player hosted his first stream as an ambassador.
This is Van Fleet's third contract with the poker site. In 2021, almost immediately after his first streams, he joined the team at ACR Poker, the flagship room of the Winning network.
At the end of 2023, the player was "snatched" by WPT Global, but this partnership lasted just over a year and was remembered for an unfinished challenge to rise from $10,000 to $100,000 in cash games. John promised to shave his beard if he didn't reach this goal within a month, but after the end of the challenge, he simply "forgot" about it.
As of February 2025, he announced that he was no longer an ambassador for WPT Global and was now "glad to be able to focus on streaming without any distractions—just enjoying the game."
On September 15th, John turned 44, and almost a month after his birthday, we learned of the beginning of a new chapter in the American's career.
The addition of a second American to the CoinPoker team is clearly no coincidence. As a reminder, the poker room signed Ryan DePaulo in March of this year.
John "apestyles" Van Fleet is one of the most famous tournament grinders in the US. He has nearly 52,000 followers on Twitch.
CoinPoker appears to be seriously targeting the US market. It's possible that another US ambassador will join the team before the end of the year.
