Kill Pot and Fixed Limit Games at PokerBros
The mobile poker site PokerBross has expanded its game offer by adding fixed-limit games to its clubs and a unique option for them called "Kill Pot." We will tell you more about these new products in our article.
New old games
For a long time, fixed-limit games, both live and offline, have lost the battle for popularity among poker fans against No-Limit and Pot-Limit formats. There are objective reasons for this, for example, a higher level of action. However, this does not mean that no players are looking for FL action. There are especially many of them among Americans.
Probably, based on this fact, PokerBros app, where many US citizens play, decided to include such games in their portfolio:
FLH, FLO, FLO5, FLO6 (Omaha, including Hi/Lo version) in 6-max and 9-max formats at stakes from 1/2 to 50/100 are now available at PokerBros clubs.
Moreover, after monitoring clubs, we spotted more active Omaha tables, although only during American prime time.
What is Kill Pot?
To add a little twist to limit gates, PokerBros developed Kill Pot. It is triggered in the next hand after the pot has been played between 8bb and 15bb (this indicator is set by the club administrator):
In a Kill Pot, the blinds on the table are doubled along with the betting limits, and the UTG player places a third forced bet of 1 BB.
There may also be a chain of such pots but without a subsequent doubling. There is no limit on the number of consecutive Kill Pots; this sequence can only be interrupted in two cases:
- The pot size is smaller than the established ones.
- Split the pot between several players, including Hi/Lo combinations.
Hence, at Omaha Hi/lo tables, the likelihood that such pots go one after another is low. Kill Pot will change the game dynamics due to more "dead chips" in the pot and the reduction in the size of the players' effective stacks relative to the size of the bets.
And, of course, all this should attract more casual players to the new tables. Right now, it's hard to know how much time "fixed-limit games and Kill Pot" duo will last.
