Online Poker in Thailand: Where to Play in 2026

Online poker in Thailand sits in a legal grey zone that got darker in 2025. Under the Gambling Act B.E. 2478, online gambling — poker included — is illegal. A brief opening, when the Sports Authority recognised poker as a sport in July 2025, slammed shut in October 2025 when a new government reinstated a nationwide ban. Yet Thai players still take their seats every night, because licensed offshore sites keep accepting them.

CoinPoker is a leader among crypto poker sites. Player accounts are anonymous (only an email address is required), and withdrawals can usually be processed without verification. In addition to cryptocurrencies, the site's cashier also supports LuxonPay.

In terms of traffic, CoinPoker is second only to Natural8 among the best poker sites for players in Thailand. During the evening hours, you can find hundreds of active tables in the lobby offering NLH, PLO, PLO5, PLO6, All-In or Fold, and Short Deck. Stakes range from $0.01/$0.02 to $5K/$10K.

The site's largest regular MTTs are part of the CoinMasters series, where winners receive coins made from one troy ounce of silver and dedicated to various cryptocurrencies. Tournament festival guarantees can reach $50 million.

CoinPoker does not have a VIP program, but due to its numerous regular bonuses, players can earn substantial rakeback at any stakes. In addition to the 150% first-deposit bonus of up to $2,000, players can also take advantage of:

ACR Poker

Acr Poker Thailand

At a glance: 100% up to $2,000 welcome bonus, rakeback of 27% fixed or up to 65% progressive, and the one site on this list where Thai players share tables with Americans. Best for MTT grinders and rakeback hunters.

ACR Poker is the flagship skin of the WPN network, which gives Thai players access to a large US-facing player pool. It is particularly well suited to rakeback grinders and MTT players.

One of the key strengths of the ACR Poker cash game lobby is its wide selection of formats. Hold'em is offered at 4-max (AoF), 6-max, and 9-max tables, along with the fast-fold Blitz format. Omaha players can choose from classic PLO and PLO Hi-Lo, while Bomb Pots are also available at selected tables.

ACR Poker gives tournament players plenty of action, with more than $9 million in guaranteed prizes a week. The schedule also features Spinz tournaments with buy-ins of up to $100 and multipliers reaching x12,000, as well as traditional Sit & Go tournaments. The flagship Venom MTTs, featuring guarantees of up to $12 million, run three times a year, while the OSS XL $50M GTD series follows the same schedule.

The site's rewards package includes a welcome bonus of up to $2,000 and two rakeback options: 27% fixed rakeback or progressive rakeback of up to 65%. Players can also take part in cash game and tournament rake races.

BCPoker

Bc Poker Thailand

At a glance: a smaller 10% up to $200 welcome bonus, rakeback of 10%–50%, and a $5 no-deposit offer that lets you start without funding an account. Best for players who want to test the water for free.

BCPoker is a new cryptocurrency poker site. It has fewer tables than the major sites, but the games at them tend to play softer.

The site supports both cryptocurrencies and popular local Thailand payment methods, including PromptPay. Most traffic is found at low-stakes 6-max and 8-max Hold’em tables. The lobby also includes:

  • PLO
  • Short Deck
  • Spin&Go from $0.25 to $100
  • Small daily MTTs

The soft lineups are easiest to find at the lower stakes, where many recreational players sit down. Tournament players should also consider the monthly $25,000-guaranteed BCPoker Apex, as both the main event and its satellites often run with overlays.

The first deposit earns an instant 10% bonus of up to $200. All players are also enrolled in the VIP program, which offers between 10% and 50% rakeback.

How we choose the best Thailand poker sites

The choice of an online poker site must be well-thought-out and justified, as playing online means not only putting at risk your bankroll, but also the security of your personal and financial data. Here's what we look at first:

  • License: UKGC, Malta, Isle of Man or at least Curacao. These are the main sources of gambling licenses that a credible poker site has.
  • Background: aside from a license, we also consider a poker site's track record; some of the offshore poker sites from our list have more than 10 years of experience.
  • Security: a worthwhile poker site also ensures its customers' security with strong encryption, anti-money laundering, and responsible gaming protocols, as well as cooperation with trustworthy payment providers and paramount iGaming software providers. We also check if RNG is valid.
  • Cashier: we look for platforms that offer both modern payment options, like cryptocurrencies, and trusted classic methods such as Skrill and Neteller.
  • Traffic: we prioritize poker sites with round-the-clock action or those that peak during Thailand time zones, ensuring local players can always find games.

We recommend only those poker sites that thoroughly comply with these standards. Selecting any, you can be sure your money and your data are in safe hands.

Can you play poker for free in Thailand?

Yes, and it is a legitimate way in, not a consolation prize. Every site on our list runs freerolls, and one gives you a bankroll before you deposit a cent. Use these as a no-risk way to test software and traffic, then move to real-money tables through the site reviews above.

  • BCPoker hands new players a $5 no-deposit bonus in BC tokens — free money to start, no deposit needed. Register, pass verification within a week, and request it in your account. To cash it out you clear $50 of rake in cash games, with no time limit on the wager. On top of that, BCPoker runs a Welcome Freeroll four times a day ($5 and $10 in ticket prizes) and a WPD Exclusive Freeroll worth $150 GTD (guaranteed prize pool) every Saturday.
  • Natural8 starts an Hourly Freeroll worth $10 GTD every hour, plus a Weekly Saturday Freeroll worth $1,500.
  • ACR Poker runs eight daily freerolls across different poker variants, each with a $50 GTD prize pool. WPD players also get an extra $10 free.
  • CoinPoker runs a daily 100 Seat Freeroll to the $1 Daily Dollar, paying out 100 tickets of $1 each.

Is online poker legal in Thailand?

As of 2026, online gambling — poker included — is not legal in Thailand under the Gambling Act B.E. 2478, enacted in 1935. The law bans almost all virtual gambling, with narrow exceptions for the state lottery and licensed horse racing.

For online poker specifically, the Criminal Code prohibits organising and promoting poker games online. Penalties fall hardest on organisers, who can face imprisonment; workers may be fined or dismissed, while prosecution of ordinary players has been rare. From a player's point of view, there is no legal route to play online poker inside Thailand — but offshore sites remain reachable, and you carry the local legal risk when you use them.

What happened to legalisation in Thailand?

The window opened and closed inside a single year. In July 2025 the Sports Authority of Thailand recognised poker as a sport, and a separate push to license land-based "entertainment complexes" gathered pace. Then it unravelled: the casino bill was withdrawn in July 2025 and rejected by a Senate committee in September 2025, and in October 2025 a new government reinstated the nationwide poker ban, reversing the sport recognition.

The entertainment-complex bill never covered online gambling in any version, so even its passage would not have legalised online poker. And the amendments discussed for 2026 point the other way, toward tougher penalties: reported ranges run one to three years for online participants and seven to twelve years for organisers. Treat "legalisation is coming" with caution; the record of 2025 argues against it.

Popular payment methods in Thailand

Under Thai law, local banks have the right to block money transactions to and from online poker sites. That's why most players prefer to rely on international e-wallets and cryptocurrency when it comes to cashing in or out. Both methods ensure not only speedy transfers but also a high level of security.

So, the top payment methods available currently are:

  • Cryptocurrency: The basic pros of cryptocurrency include fast withdrawals (processed within minutes), a high level of privacy (no government tracking or bank records), and 100% bypass of Thai bank restrictions.
  • E-Wallets: Skrill, Neteller, Jeton, and a few other e-wallets are trustworthy and accepted by most international poker sites. This payment method is also more beginner-friendly. CoinPoker also supports LuxonPay in its cashier.

Live poker in Thailand

Thailand's live scene had a loud 2025 before the rug was pulled. In July 2025 poker was recognised as a sport, WPT ran a dealer-certification programme training 100 professional dealers, and the WPT Prime Thailand Exhibition played out from 30 July to 5 August 2025 at UOB LIVE in the EMSPHERE mall in Bangkok.

That momentum stalled. When the government reinstated the poker ban in October 2025 (see the legal section above), sport activities were frozen and the earlier plan to host three to four WPT events a year no longer stands. The 2025 events happened; the annual pipeline they were meant to launch did not survive the reversal.

Famous poker players from Thailand

Punnat Punsri

Thailand's all-time live tournament money leader, Punnat Punsri, broke through in early 2022 with two PokerGO Tour high-roller wins and a Triton $100K Main Event title. He has not slowed since: his live earnings top $38.6 million ($38,608,399), more than nine times the $4,156,995 of the country's number two, Kannapong Thanarattrakul.

Thai players have also won WSOP bracelets. Nat Koe took the $1,500 Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event back in 2000, and in 2025 Veerachai Vongxaiburana won his first bracelet in the $10,000 Big O Championship (Event #44) for $784,353.

Final thoughts

Online poker in Thailand remains outside the law, and the brief 2025 opening has closed. That makes the choice of a trustworthy offshore site the thing that protects you, not optimism about legalisation.

If you plan to play, start with the best poker sites we have verified for Thailand: CoinPoker, Natural8, ACR Poker or BCPoker. Grab a freeroll or a no-deposit offer to test it, then move to the tables through our reviews and claim your deal.

Responsible Gambling

Stick to the following tips:

  • Don't gamble more than you can afford to lose.
  • No playing when you are too emotional or desperate.
  • Set self-restrictions (money and time).
  • Seek help internationally if necessary.

Online poker is fun, but it can also be devastating if you lose control.
