Is online poker legal in India?

On August 21, 2025, the Indian Parliament passed a law completely banning real money games on the internet, including poker, fantasy sports, and rummy. In response, gambling companies began consulting with lawyers to challenge the ban in the Supreme Court, arguing that the law fails to distinguish between games of chance and games of skill like poker.
