Record 17-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth has continued the tradition of making a theatrical grand entrance for the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, Nevada, a gimmick he started back in 2007. This time, he went with a superhero theme and was joined by Daniel “Jungelman” Cates and one model for each of his bracelets again.

Super Phil Hellmuth Me Wsop 2026

This is a tradition the record 17-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth started in 2007. Back then, sponsored by the ill-fated poker site UltimateBet, he turned up for the WSOP Main Event dressed as a NASCAR driver.

Since then, he showed up to buy in for poker’s most famous tournament dressed as Julius Caesar, a Kung Fu master, or as a member of the Australian rock band AC/DC. For his last few stunts, he was accompanied not only by grid girls — typically as many as the number of WSOP bracelets he had at the time — but also by another poker legend, Daniel “Jungleman” Cates.

This time, he chose an ambiguous superhero costume. He donned a black bodysuit with his stylized initials on the abdomen part, an Elvis Presley hairstyle wig, and a golden cape. Hellmuth does not need much to stand out from a crowd with his 6’7 stature, but he certainly makes himself even more grandiose with his annual WSOP ME entrances.

And yes, he did get 17 models to follow him in his entourage again. Jungelman decided to join them in a Cupid costume, a little out of place this time.

“The Poker Brat” is known for his theatrics at the table as well, usually coming in the form of berating another player while touting his own skills. Many enjoy the show, many find it obnoxious — but even some of his detractors think that he has a personality that draws attention, which is overall good for the game.

His traditional Main Event entrances are just part of that equation.

Phil Hellmuth’s Record in the WSOP Main Event

Of his 17 WSOP gold bracelets, only one is from the Main Event: it is the very first he’s ever won back in 1989. At age 24, he was the youngest WSOP Main Event champion at the time, a record that he held until 2008 (when 22-year-old Peter Eastgate won).

He also won the Main Event at WSOP Europe in 2012, making him the only player in poker history to take down the Main in the Las Vegas and the European leg of the World Series as well.

He has eight cashes total in the WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas. The last one is from 2015, when he came in 417th for $21,786.
