In February 2021, GGNetwork updated its platform with two significant changes: a new scoring system in the Rush & Cash Leaderboard and introduced the "10 hands" rule to fight bumhunting.
The most resonant novelty introduced in the latest update of the GGPoker client is the so-called "10 hands" rule. It is described as follows:
"Penalty is applied to players who leave a table before playing 10 hands or for smoother gameplay and to hinder bum-hunting."
The penalty consists of a temporary restriction to access tables of certain stakes. If a player sits down at the table and leaves without playing a single hand, then the penalty is not applied.
*Statistics are kept for the last 12 hours. The rule does not apply in Rush & Cash and VIP games.
Of course, regulars didn't like this change because, with active multi-tabling, these 10 hands turn into hundreds and thousands and, therefore, into an extra rake, which you have to pay for participating in a forced game.
On February 1, 2021, a new formula for scoring points in the daily race on fast-fold poker games was also introduced. We compared it with the old one in the following table:
| Points | ||
|---|---|---|
| Action | Old scoring | New scoring |
| Fold | 1 | |
| Call | 1 | 3 |
| Bet/Raise | 2 | 5 |
| Insurance | 3 | 5 |
The cap of points for one table has also been increased from 10 to 20.
The role of insurance in scoring points is reduced, and those will be credited even for discarding cards preflop. This system has been criticized by players because it leads to abuse to get higher places in the race, such as the frequent use of mini-raises.
Since February 1, the prize money distribution in promotions changed, and some events were boosted. Recall that payments are processed in the form of Cash Game Dollars (C$) since last month.
