Creator Poker Championship: A Tournament for Bloggers from the WPT

The WPT surprises again: now it's launching an influencer tournament.

This year, the World Poker Tour is clearly on a creative wave. After experimenting with the WPT Wildcard format, where players competed in unconventional conditions, the organizers have unveiled a new project.

In partnership with Creator Television, the WPT will host the Creator Poker Championship - the brand's first tournament, featuring popular streamers, bloggers, and content creators.

The event will take place during the WPT World Championship in Las Vegas - and for good reason. The WPT uses its flagship festival as an ideal ground to attract a young audience active on YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok.

At this point, it is known that popular content creators from various niches will participate in the project:

1. King Bach (Andrew Bachelor) is an American comedian, actor, and producer who rose to fame thanks to Vine and YouTube.
2. Wengie (Huang Wengie) is an Australian blogger of Chinese descent, known for her videos on beauty, fashion, and life hacks.
3. Daphnique Springs is an American stand-up comedian whose performances often touch on relationships, personal life, and social observation.
4. Soy is a Filipino blogger and musician who makes videos about culture, mental health, and cooking.
   Jenny Lorenzo is an American actress and content creator known for her sketches, parodies, and the character Abulay.

Viewers can watch the tournament on Creator Television via Amazon Fire TV, LiveTVx, Plex, Sling Freestream, and Xumo Play, as well as on the official WPT channels on YouTube and Twitch.

What remains unknown

So far, only the tournament announcement has been released, and many details about it have not yet been released:

• Full list of Creator Poker Championship participants. Will famous poker professionals appear?
• Tournament format: Sit & Go or full-fledged MTT.
• Who will host the show?
• What mechanics will be used to enhance the event's appeal?
• Will WPT Wildcards be used?

The WPT's approach appears strategically sound: uniting the poker world with influencers allows it to reach beyond its traditional audience and transform the game into a full-fledged media product.

If the experiment is successful, the Creator Poker Championship could become an annual WPT event with its own ranking system and new stars at the tables.
