WPT World Championship 2024: $5M Freeroll and Main Event
One of the biggest series of the year will be played from December 3 to 23 at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas. The WPT World Championship schedule comprises 46 tournaments, including an incredible $5M freeroll and a Main Event with no guaranteed prize pool.
Full schedule of the WPT World Championship 2024
From December 3 to 23, 2024, one of the biggest poker series of the year will be played at the Wynn Casino in Las Vegas: the WPT World Championship.
Details:
- The schedule features 46 tournaments.
- All events, except the Main Event, have a guaranteed prize pool ranging from $50k to $5M. In total, the series guarantees $20,750,000.
- Regarding exotic formats, the series includes several events: H.O.R.S.E., T.O.R.S.E., 8-Game, Mix Triple Draw, Big Bet Mix, and Stud 8 in a mix with Limit Omaha 8.
- 11 events will be played in different Omaha formats.
- For the first time, the series will have the ClubWPT Freeroll with a guaranteed prize pool of $5,000,000. The winner will receive 25% of this time. Another $1M will be awarded in 100 Main Event tickets
- Freeroll tickets (2,000 in total) will be available to players in the US and Canada via the new ClubWPTGold.com app
Another $10M of the 2024 WPT World Championship guarantee will be played in four multi-flight flagship tournaments:
- No Limit Hold’em $1,000,000 GTD for $800
- WPT Prime Championship $5,000,000 for $1,100
- No Limit Hold’em $3,000,000 GTD for $3,000
- Mystery Bounty $1,000,000 GTD for $1,600

What’s changed in the series?
The big surprise in the 2024 WPT World Championship schedule is the lack of a guaranteed prize pool in the Main Event.
Recall that two years ago, the series returned after a seven-year hiatus with a $15M guarantee. In 2023, it raised the bar to $40M, becoming the largest tournament in live poker history. In the end, the tournament had an overlay of $2,417,000.
This year, WPT's main competitor, WSOP Paradise, announced a $50M guarantee for the Main Event, but Adam Pliska's team decided not to join this record-breaking "race."
In addition, the number of starting flights was reduced from four to three.
In daily and Sunday satellites, with $12,400 WPT Passport prizes, you can win tickets to the Main Event on WPT Global Poker.
Unfortunately, this year's schedule does not include the $1M Big One for One Drop this year. In 2023, it featured only 17 players and became the smallest tournament in the brand's history.
At the same time, the WPT World Championship has some advantages over its competitors: several poker formats on the schedule, which is essential for players from the United States.
