2019 PPPoker World Championship in Manila, Philippines
A new step in the development of the Asian poker world is taking place with the announcement of the PPPoker World Championship (PPWC) in 2019, a tournament series which will be held from February 15th to February 21st, 2019, at Resorts World Manila.
About PPPoker World Championship (PPWC)
30,000,000PHP (1USD = 52,9PHP), almost $600kUSD, are guaranteed in a total of 15 tournaments (to be confirmed), which will be played during 7 days in a row. The Main Event has a guaranteed prize of 20,000,000PHP (approximately $380kUSD) and will be played the last day of the series.
The schedule also includes a Team Event with a 550,000PHP buy-in ($10kUSD) which will give the title of PPPoker World Champion. The Main Event has a buy-in of 55,000PHP ($1,000) and will have 3 initial days for a total of 6 days of action until the winner is announced. A complete schedule will be released soon, for now, only information about the Team Event and the Main Event is available, although PPPoker confirmed more than 10 side events.
Players interested in playing the PPWC can purchase tickets contacting the PPPoker support team via e-mail or Facebook or with the local marketing representatives. Online satellites for the Main Event are being played on the in-app Global Tournament.
Conclusion
This is not the first live event sponsored by PPPoker. During 2018, the PPPoker Festival was played in several countries:
- Philippines, Jan 28th — March 11th, 2018
- India, April 22nd, 2018
- Taiwan, September 13th — September 16th, 2018
- Japan, February 19th — June 3rd, 2018
- Brazil, June 18th — June 25th, 2018
- Australia, April 15th — April 22nd, 2018
- Germany, October 5th — October 7th, 2018
But those tournament series were meant just for local players. For example, the PPPoker Festival Taiwan awarded NT$506,500 ($16,583) to the winner and had a buy-in of $350. Now, the PPPoker World Championship is guaranteeing more money than any other PPPoker live event in the past and it is inviting poker players from all over the world.
