EPT Open Sochi 2021: highlights of the October stop

From 2 to October 11, 2021, Sochi will host the first post-pandemic EPT Open Sochi series. The schedule includes 14 trophy events with buy-ins ranging from 12,600₽ to 257,600₽. You will find all the details below.

October in Sochi

Live poker is gaining momentum, and after a two-year break, the EPT Open Sochi brand is returning to Russia. This relatively new series is the "mini edition" of the classic European Poker Tour. It was held only two times before - in Madrid and in Sochi.

EPT Open Sochi 2021 (October 2-11) will host 14 trophy events with buy-ins ranging from ₽12,600 to ₽257,600 ($175 - $3,550).

Main Event and High Roller

Yi Ye won EPT Open Sochi

The first EPT Open Sochi Main Event (2019) attracted 594 players and had over ₽100M ($1,610,875) in prize money. The winner was Yi Ye from China, who received $300,855.

The upcoming ME will have approximately the same buy-in (₽133,000 - about $1,825) and the following structure:

Starting stack: 30,000 chips (300 BB);
Blind levels: Day 1 - 30 minutes, Day 2 - 60 minutes, Day 3 - 75 minutes;
Unlimited re-entries are possible on each of the three starting days;
15% of the participants will finish in the money.

The most expensive event of the festival will feature a ₽257,600 (about $3,550) buy-in and an even deeper structure: 50K chips starting stack, 40-60 minutes blind levels.

EPT Sochi 2022

For those who could not come to Sochi in October, the "EPT Sochi big series" has already been announced next year. This event will take place from March 18 to March 27.

Online satellites to the next year's Main Event are already available, with buy-ins starting from $1.1. The final $215 qualifiers run every Sunday at 8:05 pm. Each of them guarantees a minimum of one $4,000 package, which includes $1,555 for travel and accommodation expenses in addition to the ME buy-in.

Safety measures at the «Krasnaya Polyana» resort

All casino visitors have to wear a protective mask and gloves. To book a hotel room or apartment, guests must provide one of the following:

COVID-19 vaccination certificate;
Negative PCR test received no earlier than 3 days before check-in, as well as voluntary consent to be vaccinated during the first 3 days of stay;
An official document that confirms a medical withdrawal from vaccination for health reasons together with a negative PCR test received no earlier than 3 days before check-in;
A medical document or certificate of a past COVID-19 illness, if no more than 6 months have passed since the day of recovery.
