GGPoker has once again set a new world record for online poker traffic. Just a few months after surpassing the 600,000-player mark, the platform reached another milestone, with more than 900,000 connections recorded in the client. The primary driver behind the massive surge in traffic was the popularity of the GG World Festival tournaments.
Last fall, GGPoker became the first poker room in history to surpass 600,000 concurrent players. The milestone was widely considered a landmark achievement for the industry, especially since even at the height of PokerStars popularity, traffic figures were roughly half as large.
But the record stood for only six months. In early May 2026, a screenshot published on GGPoker’s official X account showed traffic exceeding 750,000 connections. Just an hour later, poker room ambassador Andrijana "LijaPoker" Gligorić shared a post displaying more than 800,000 connections, and by the following day, regular players were already posting screenshots showing traffic above 900,000.

The primary reason behind the sharp surge in activity at the end of spring — a period when online poker traffic usually declines seasonally — was the launch of the GG World Festival series, which featured a $300 million guaranteed prize pool. The festival schedule included hundreds of tournaments across a wide range of buy-ins. During the opening days of the series, dozens of major events, satellites, and Day 1 flights were running simultaneously in the client, resulting in a dramatic spike in player traffic.
The influence of the GG World Festival on the new record is also reflected in the cash game numbers. During those days, cash tables attracted around 9,500 connections, which was notable but wasn't exactly record numbers for the poker room.
Another important factor has been GGPoker’s expanding global ecosystem. The poker room continues to grow aggressively across Asian, Latin American, and European markets while also launching new local skins, allowing more traffic to be consolidated into a single player pool.
The rise of mobile poker has also contributed significantly to the growth. A large share of GGPoker’s audience now plays on smartphones, while fast-paced formats and a simplified interface appeal to recreational players far more effectively than traditional poker platforms of previous generations.
The next major question is whether GGPoker can break the psychological barrier of one million concurrent players. Considering the platform’s current growth trajectory, such a milestone no longer appears out of reach. There is a strong possibility that the next record could arrive during an upcoming stage of the WSOP Online series.
