Two countries out
Yesterday, the unpleasant news was unveiled:
From February 14, 2022, customers from Russia and Moldova will not be allowed to play at partypoker.
Players from these countries received the corresponding emails and got the following message upon login:
What happened?
Those who follow our blog closely should remember that back in late 2020 when GVC Holdings (parent company of partypoker) was rebranded to Entain Plc, its management announced a plan to completely switch all operations only to regulated markets by 2023.
Since then, partypoker left Poland, Norway, Montenegro, and several Latin American countries, including Venezuela and Panama. Also, Entain acquired the Baltic company Enlabs, which owned 2 poker rooms: Optibet Poker became the legal GVC Network's skin in Lithuania, while Bestpoker was closed.
The departure of partypoker from the Russian market is the next step of Entain's policy of full legalization.
By the way, partypoker was the only GVC Network skin that accepted players from this country and let's recall that partypoker Sochi shutdown in late 2021. It's worth noting that partypoker allows new registrations only from 26 countries at the time of writing.
What's next?
Of course, no one will miss Russian regs. On the other hand, players from several countries where online poker is not properly regulated can expect the same fate this year. For example, such an approach should make Entain leave all LatAm countries.
In general, withdrawing from big markets barely promises any good to partypoker in the long run. Our latest Hold 'em and Omaha traffic analysis can only support this assumption. So you'd better be prepared and find some fallback in advance.
Firstly, partypoker attracted regulars by the direct 20%+ rakeback and high fast-fold poker traffic. Modern online poker offers little choice regarding the latter, especially in Omaha.
- The maximum number of fast-fold poker tables can be found at PokerStars and GGNetwork. In the morning, you can participate in similar "regwars" on Winning Poker Network (NL10$, NL50$, and NL200$), and in the evening - at 888Poker (five stakes available, up to NL50$), but the traffic is lower here.
- If you prefer regular tables with a good rakeback from WPD, then take a closer look at WPN and iPoker Network. For those who prefer softer playing fields, we recommend Chico Poker Network.
Of course, there are more exotic options for players ready to experiment. Reach our team to find out more information:
