WPT Global: New Title Sponsor of the Triton Series
On October 9, WPT Global and Triton Poker Super High Roller Series announced a new partnership. The first $25k WPT Global Slam will be played in the next stage in Monte Carlo, which you can qualify for via online satellites.
New partnership
Although WPT Global is backed by one of the most recognized brands in the poker world (World Poker Tour), the room also wants to collaborate with other live series.
On October 9, 2024, WPT Global and Triton Poker simultaneously announced on their social media that the online poker room was becoming the new title sponsor of the stages of the high roller tournament series.
The heads of both sites, Alex Scott and Andy Wong, mentioned that this new collaboration would increase traffic on both platforms, highlighting that WPT Global and Triton-Poker have differentiated approaches to recreational players, favoring softer playing fields.
The $25,000 WPT Global Slam tournament was also announced, which would be included in all future stages of Triton Poker, starting with the next one in Monte Carlo (November 1 to 14, 2024). The press release also mentions that there will be exclusive qualifying events on their online platform.
Triton Poker's profile on X (formerly Twitter) confirms that the contract extends throughout the next season. In 2025, players can expect many more promotions and tournaments.
Other online partners of Triton Poker
Paul Phua's team signed its first contract with a well-known online room in March 2022, when the partnership between GGPoker and Triton Poker began. The world's largest online poker room had satellites for the GG Million$ Live for two years.
In 2024, when NSUS (owner of GGPoker) bought the WSOP, the work between the two companies was extended to the WSOP Paradise. During this period, the most expensive tournaments were called #2 Triton Million and #7 Triton Main Event.
Last year, the American network Winning Poker started offering $110,000 packages for Triton Poker stops (High Stakes Adventure promotion), while BetACR, a brand of ACR Poker, is the official partner for betting on Triton.
For players from China and South Korea, the series partners with the mobile application QQPK.
