On May 20 and 28, two well-known poker players announced a new stage in their poker careers on the X (Twitter) network:

Patrick "Egption" Tardif and Xuan Liu signed ambassadorial contracts with WPT Global.
The poker room team also includes:

  • Phil Ivey
  • Brad Owen
  • Ethan "Rampage" Yau
  • Jonathan "apestyles" Van Fleet
  • Angel Guillen.

In a published press release, WPT Global President Alex Scott did not spare flattering words to his new colleagues:

“Having both Patrick and Xuan representing WPT Global is a tremendous honour. Their combined expertise not only elevates our platform but also reinforces our mission to offer the best poker experience to players worldwide.”

The players themselves have informed subscribers of the following:

  • Xuan Liu stated that she has been working with WPT for a long time, but now her relationship with the brand has moved to the official level. Liu promised to continue promoting her favorite games.
  • Patrick Tardif will show off all the cool WPT Global chips on his streams.

Who is Patrick Tardif?

After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, Patrick moved to South Korea to teach English as a foreign language. However, in 2017, he left his teaching career and devoted himself entirely to streaming poker at Twitch.

In the same year, Tardif became a member of the GGPoker Team and then GGPoker Canada. He recently stopped working with the room and no longer streamed.

The Canadian has won almost $7M online during his poker career. The player received the largest payouts: $109K for 2nd place in Sunday Million in September 2018 and $1,050, $1M GTD in May 2022 in GGMasters High Rollers.

Almost all of Patrick's winnings in live tournaments came in a payout of $159,157, again for 2nd place in the WPT Fallsview series tournament for $2,500 in winter 2020.

Who is Xuan Liu?

The similarity between Liu and Tardif lies only in their love of poker and their common homeland: Canada.

Liu started her career as a live player. To pay for university tuition, she played single-table tournaments and low-stakes cash at local casinos and helped host home games on the university campus and in Toronto as an organizer or dealer.

She became famous in 2011-2012 after two Main EPT and PCA tournament finals. The third and fourth places in those tournaments earned the Canadian more than a million dollars. She often participates in live poker shows like High Stakes Poker.

Liu was an ambassador for 888Poker for only 10 months but had a more extended collaboration with WPT. Xuan's website also indicates that she is now working on the A5 Labs team, which develops tools to prevent and detect fraudulent activity in poker rooms.
